  1. There is a good reason that the Kids Club is closed from 12-2 and 5-7......It is called lunch and dinner time. Why wouldn't you want to spend mealtimes with your children? NCL is very family friendly.................

OK, I will bite. We went on a family cruise last year on NCL. Me, wife, and 2 kids (11 and 8 year old girls). We ate ZERO dinners together as family. So my wife and I got to enjoy nice mellow dinners, where we wanted to eat. We did spend family time together, mostly during the day.

And why did we not eat dinner together? Because in the evenings both kids wanted to spend their time in the kids club. So they rushed down some food from the buffet, and then into the kids club.

It worked for them and worked for us.

  2. Just to clear all this up (as frequent NCL cruisers & casino players):

    4. On NCL you can go to the casino cashier cage, and by authorizing a charge against the credit card associated with your room, get cash for gambling. The advantages to doing this as opposed to using the on-board ATM are: no fees and higher cash limits. This is different from Carnival's system, where you authorize the charge, and the available dollars are placed on your "Sign and Sail" card, which is then used in the machine.

    Hope that all makes sense!

No fees? Just got off the Gem, 3% charge if you want to buy chips with the credit card linked to your onboard account.

  3. Hey folks a question for the folks living in the area we are doing the Disney Dream in oct and there's three ships in port that day about 10,000 people my question is we want to book the Radisson for one night before do you think we still would have some time to book it or do you think it will fill up fast?? I'm hoping I can book it in may do you think it will be to late?

    Tom

This seems like an illogical question to me. Why not just book the room now?

  4. Let's put it this way...do you get your cheesesteaks from Subway (or Jim's) or Campos? Most non Phillies probably enjoy Subway's version. Phillies gag at them. BBQ is the same down south. Big regional variances. Local spots typically better because they cook for fewer. and do it long and slow not grilled/inflection heated and slathered with sauce. Sonny's is a chain and it attracts the tourists and non BBQ purists, much like Genos or PAt's or Jims attract tourists and people who love CheeseWhiz:).

So how about Abner's? Is that still around? And I love Larry's, home of the belly filler (near Temple).

  5. We are 2 adults and 2 kids (11 and 8). Any suggestions on which beach to go to? It will be midweek in April. Looking for a place that will rent boogie boards and skimboards for the day, too.

And just to confirm, we will have to call a cab company, since the cabs by the pier are looking to take people to Orlando (or larger fares than to a beach)? Any recommendations on a cab company? And how much time should be have to give them to show up?

    Thanks in advance to all.

  6. . We were also told by RCCL that those cabins go fast. I am still surprised that there is one still left, by how they talked it up over the phone.

I experienced the same thing. I wanted a balcony cabin on the Navigator, and the RCCL agent hyped up Corner Aft Cabin 9690 so much I thought he was trying to get rid of it and make more commission. But others have talked positively about it as well. I am just not sure what makes it so wonderful. It might seem bigger, but after seeing pictures it seems to me that a balcony on the side would have the same amount of visibility, if not more.
