  1. I'm amazed that so many people have safety concerns because of reduced ship speed. Had Princess initially offered the current itinerary on the 22 September cruise, they would have no need to reveal the problem.

Also I don't recall seeing any mention of problem Impact on max speed. Perhaps I'm mistaken, but according to my calculations, the ship has to average about 20 knots to make the crossing to Bermuda in six days. According to Wikipedia, the CP is rated at 22 knots. So the max speed is about ten percent less than rated. That doesn't seem like a big loss.

With regard to propulsion failure, there are many cruise days between now and 22 September for that to happen.

So I see no reason to cancel my reservation, and perhaps the price will drop before final payment if enough people cancel theirs.

  2. We are thinking of taking a family cruise to Alaska in June. It will be a large group - children ranging in age from 2- 14, young adults, middle aged adults and seniors- 23 of us all together. The ship of choice is the Radiance of the Sea and the cruise starts in Steward and ends in Anchorage.

Has anyone done this? Is there enough on the ship to keep the kids happy?

Would love to hear experiences. Not sure if it would be worth the big expense of such a trip since we have to fly from Southern California, Arizona and Wisconsin.

Thanks for any advice you can share!!!!!!!!!

  3. Hi,

My husband found this river cruise on line. It is very difficult to find any information about it until he found your post.

Can you tell us more about the ship? I am apprehensive going since there is so little out there about this company and ship.

    Thanks, Diane
