  1. My sister recently got off the Splendor OTS. They were told that all the nice tables had been specifically reserved, and all that was left were tables near the wait stations. They were further told that moving to a doff errant dining time wouldn't matter, as everything had been pre reserved. We can't find out how to do that. Does anyone have any tips on reserving a specific table with MYD?

  2. Haha...nothing left behind! I liked the balcony, and great viewing, but with the chilly weather, we only sat out once. We really liked walking on Deck 12...made it easier to rationalize eating a little more than usual. Like I said, on this itinerary, I could just get an oceanview with a big window, but I really liked being mid ship close to elevators. We liked the easy stair access to deck 11 and Deck 5.

  3. We took the metro to Norreport. VERY easy. Landed at 10, took the metro, went over to Torvehallerne Market for a duck confit sandwich at Ma Poule. So glad we did that. We go to an old market in Cleveland often, and it was interesting to see this one. Very easy to catch the 25 bus to the port afterwards. We got al our info from reading Danish viking's posts. Stayed one day in Copenhagen, then grabbedt he metro back to the airport. We bought a 24 hour card for transportation, so all our transport was very reasonable and easy.

We had euros from a previous trip.

We exchanged money at the Toronto airport so we had enough to purchase our transport stuff in Copenhagen and for the hop on hop off boat in Stockholm(they take euros as well as Swedish money). From reading, we knew how much the transport would cost, and it did make it less stressful for us. We didn't realize we had a credit card with a chip, but we had registered a pin at some point so credit cards were easy to use.

Embarking took forever, as the computers were having issues. Disembarking was a breeze,as we only had carry on. Very easy to walk to the bus 25 back to Norreport.

  4. We were also in 9078 on the May 23 sailing. I agree about the touch ups on the balcony, but it wouldn't keep me from booking again. There was really minimal noise from the Centrum as far as we were concerned. On Disco night it was loud, but we didn't stay in our room. The noise was over by the time we went to bed at 11, or at least it didn't bother us. Great location! We question whether we would get a balcony on this cruise, or in this weather. There were oceanview rooms with Giant windows, which gave lots of light. We spent our time walking deck 12 or sitting in the Schooner Bar or Vortex lounge looking out at sea while reading.

  5. We also thank you for all your help. What a beautiful city! Your instructions re the 25 bus both to oceankaj and from were perfect. Very easy to maneuver with our carry on bags. We felt sorry for the people with their giant suitcases who were frustrated with maneuvering them on the busses.

There was someone at the taxi area at Oceankaj who confirmed we were going in the correct direction for the bus and tickets.

It was very easy taking the Metro to Norreport from the airport. People should be reminded that there are ticket kiosks on the platform, so don't wait in a line at the first ticket booth you see.

We stayed at the Hotel Bethel, which was an easy walk from the Metro. We didn't see an elevator, and were feeling lazy about carrying our bags up the stairs, so we took the escalator up to the Magasin Department Store, and excited at street level.

Everything went so easily with our transport, and we enjoyed walking around your beautiful city as well as taking a canal trip.

    Thank you again!

  6. We were just there today. They said to buy the pass on the bus if you have Danish cash. We had exchanged at the airport in Toronto so we were ready. Danish Viking had advised on how much the tickets were and it seemed easy with minimal fee to just have the cash at hand...and it was. The bus driver said to just get the pass at the metro station.

  7. Don't worry, you will see the ship from the bus stop, it isn't far just a couple of hundred meters.

This is the bus stop to the right, your ship will berth forward of the red cruiseferry.

Use the crosswalk at the crossroad just before the bus stop to get across the road.

The follow the signs for Finland Tegelvikshamnen.

All of your advice in this thread has been amazingly helpful! We are so excited for our day in Stockholm! Thank you for taking the time to help all of us.

  8. Yes bus 25 is the new cruise shuttle.

2 and/or 3 zone tickets is valid for 1 hour and the rule is that you should just have boarded the train, metro, bus etc before the time expire.

The ticket machines round up to the next quarter so if you buy the ticket at 9:04 the ticket will expire at 10:15.

I'm still thinking that the bus stops next to the terminals, it did last year so I don't expect otherwise.

There isn't any fixed timetable but it departs every 20-30 minute between 8:00 and 16:00, I'm guessing the 30 minute interval is when there is only 1 ship in port.

So do I buy a 2 zone for the metro to Norreport? We will have lunch and continue on, so then we buy a ticket from the driver for the bus 25 to Oceankaj? How much is that?

    Thanks for all your help!!

  9. I found 2 Tumi soft sided rectangular rolling carry ons at TJ Maxx last year that we took to Italy for 12 days in late October. They were perfect, and even fit in the overhead bins on the commuter flights. We could only have 18 lbs, and the suitcase weighed 4 1/2 lbs., but we did it, and were stylish. In fact, we brought more than we needed.

We are bringing them for our 7 night Baltic cruise and one post night this year in May, and will not check a bag.

I will pack 3 tops, all of which I will wear with leggings for dinners(will wear each twice with one three times). Shoes will be Lindsay Phillips ballet flats.

For 4 days of touring, I will have 2 sweaters and three lightweight t's to go under the sweaters. 2 lightweight dark indigo skinny "jeans"(not really denim), 2 scarves. 1 packable down jacket(everyone in Italy seemed to wear these last fall). One pair of comfy black flats. I can hand wash the t shirts

For sea days, will wear leggings, and a long, comfy top.

Everything for my hair that fits in a quart sized baggie will come, and I go to my make up counter and get the 10 day sample size of foundation, so I don't waste space with a bigger bottle.

I pack doing that bundle method, and swear by it. I put my undies, etc on a vacuum bag, so if the suitcase is searched, they aren't tumbling out.

If there is room, and weight left, I will bring my hair dryer and flat iron, otherwise, I will wear my hair curly, which DH likes better anyway.

In my tote will be just my phone, Ipad, Kindle,a small make up bag, compression socks and something I can use as a sleeping top on the plane.

On the plane, I wear leggings and long top, bring a sweater and maybe a raincoat if rain is in the forecast.

It is so liberating to just have a carry on.
