Hey Jeff - great review so far! We will be on the 10/15/22 Legend sailing and wondered if you noticed any embarkation day happy hour pricing in Red Frog Pub or other bars? I understand that many ships have cut the 1/2 price fishbowls, etc and was curious what you saw onboard.

Any recent cruisers have any luck with this? I seem to remember a recent thread discussing this topic but couldn't seem to locate it. We have way more OBC than we could possibly spend so we just want to better understand our options...

Cancelled my flights and all excursions for Equinox April 11th based on earlier announcement!! What the heck Celebrity????

So confused...

Our April 11th Equinox cruise was on the original list, so I cancelled our flights, excursions, etc...

Now, our cruise is NOT on the list and based on the email that alismama posted, April 11th cruises are still on??

However, my booking is gone on the Celebrity website and the April 11th Equinox cruise doesn't show either...

So what's going on????

Does Celebrity offer sugar free ice cream on their ships?

One more question, and bare with me while I talk it through...🙂

* Ship time in St. Thomas is 8am-5pm, and I'm assuming that Eastern Standard Time since we are sailing out of Ft Lauderdale.

* St Thomas does not observe daylight savings time, so in April it will be 7am in St Thomas (Atlantic Standard Time) when we arrive and 4pm (AST) when we leave, correct?

First time cruising on Celebrity - will be sailing on the Equinox in April. Are Concierge Class cabins ready when we board the ship, or do we have to wait? Thanks in advance.

We will have three people staying in the cabin, and it would be nice to have a third chair on the balcony. With an extended balcony and the extra space, has anyone ever had luck getting a third chair upon request? TIA.

So, we will start this review out a week before the cruise.

 

It was a HECTIC week! Anyone who follows my reviews knows that my daughter, Sakari, LOVES to draw. It's her life. She's very good at it. She has been tested the last 2 years and determined to be "gifted" in arts. I'm so proud of her. However, this time around was a little different. I received notice that her name was submitted to the gifted program and they were requiring an art portfolio to be submitted for consideration to the arts school program. She doesn't have a portfolio and I keep a majority of her work in tote(S) that I would have to frantically run around trying to locate some of her best work to submit.

 

The other issue was, this portfolio was to be submitted on the day we leave for vacation AND she was supposed to have an interview on the day we return from vacation. Mom-panic-mode kicked in.

 

I still needed to pack and double up on seeing patients for the week and now this.

 

It was a very long week, but we managed to be able to submit prior to that friday and they agreed to forgive her for not being able to make it to the interview. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If she's accepted, this means she will get to go to the arts school in 6th grade and automatically be enrolled in the arts high school.

 

Everyone keep your fingers crossed for us!

 

Ok, next deadline for that week....Friendship/kindness rock painting. What? Never heard of it. However, there were a few people on our roll call for this cruise that does this and posted their rocks. I instantly fell in love...and thought this was right up Sakari's alley! I showed her and she immediately wanted to do some for the cruise.

 

We headed out to buy the supplies and came home that night and started painting.

 

 

She was loving this new "artsy" thing to do.

 

 

We had so much fun that we think we are going to make this an event that we do for every cruise.

 

This was the first batch, but we did a second batch later in the week and for some reason I don't think I got a picture of them.

 

 

 

Even Kolin, my youngest son, joined in one night and had some fun coming up with ideas to paint.

 

 

I guess people have groups all over the place that paint rocks and they leave them in areas for others to find. They either keep them or move them somewhere else. I believe they are meant to brighten someone's day. So, hopefully we would be able to do that for several people on the cruise.

I was watching a cruise video from ParoDeeJay, and saw that he found one of your friendship rocks! Scroll to 6:06...

Heading out on the Magic in a couple of weeks and I am interested to see the menus for each night to help with deciding on making reservations in the other dining venues. Any recent Magic cruisers have that info by chance? Thanks in advance!

She's coming up on the VA bay bridge tunnel. And only going 12.8 K. They should just go directly to Freeport and get her fixed.

Does anyone have confirmation that she's definitely getting repairs in the Bahamas? There was speculation of getting them last night in Baltimore, but based on her current speed it doesn't seem like anything was fixed. Was hoping that someone onboard would have more info...

Thanks for posing this question. We're also stopping in Nassau for only a few hours, and had looked at the Hilton. Can you hire smirking gear, wave runner, kayaks or paddle boards etc. We're travelling with 5 teens who prefer to be active, whereas us parents prefer to be sun worshiping. An alternative I'm considering is tiki hut which appears to be a simple beaxh hut but with sea activities for the kids.

With 5 teens, they probably have their own "smirking gear"...:D

Maybe they will start charging extra for both morning and night service and call it FTTC (Faster to the Clean) :D
