  1. I have also seen that same-day laundry is on FULL Suite pdf and not on the Suite Benefits from the ship accomodations. We are Suite and Elite and have been able to convince the hotel manager a few times to give us same day service. Any ideas? We are in an aft suite on the Regal next week..

  2. We are booked to sail December 14 out of FLL on the Regal. Many of the ports on our trip have been damaged to put it mildly, including San Juan. That's one reason we chose this cruise.

Of course final payment is not due until the end of September. I'm wondering when Princess will make the decision to cancel the cruise or something else. The cruise is 21 days and with all the ports being hit by the hurricane, I can't imagine where we will go. I don't want to be at sea for an extended amount of time.

Hopefully, a decision will be made sooner rather then later after everything is reviewed.

We are booked on probably the same cruise that you are referring to, but it actually leaves Ft Lauderdale on December 17., 2017.

  3. There is a wide swath of machines that land between "human barista" and K-Cups. The concierge lounge on the Disney Dream and the Studio lounge on the NCL GA (to name two I've used) have very expensive machines that make a variety of espresso-based drinks from whole beans, not from pods of any kind. I haven't been on Princess yet, but it looks like they have these machines in the concierge lounges on Royal and Regal.

The concierge is reason enough for booking a suite on the Royal, Regal and Majestic

  4. We do EZ-Air quite often and find the same thing. We are booked for DFW->Rome for a transatlantic cruise on the Royal in October. We are flying business class on Delta end by booking as First Class, we saved $200 over business class. Our flights including first class from FLL to DFW is $1691, restricted was above $7000

  5. Our Princess Vacation Planner has gone to bat for us several times to get price reductions or a better category whenever a sale comes along. We previously booked through the 800 number, but have used the same PVP for the last 18 or 20 cruises. BTW, he has called us when prices have improved and he was able to get the better price.

  6. Usually it one of the Ladies hairdressers who has been trained as a barber. The two cruises I was on the Royal earlier this year the lady was very good and also gave a very nice shave, so she has given me 4 shaves and 4 haircuts this year.

Even if it a guy, it is one of the ladies hairdressers also.

  7. We were in L208 back in Marh and loved it. There was a bumping noise for a short time one night, but then it was great.

Large dressing table in living area, nice division between l/r and bedroom.

Huge balcony, but sometimes when underway, wind pushing against balcony door would not allow it to open.

    Would choose this room again.

  8. Princess has mis-managed Anytime dining since it was introduced in 2001. Unlike other lines, Princess allows Traditional diners to show up and take space in the Anytime dining rooms whenever they want.

Management is left up to the Maitre d' and policies are all over the place. The only thing consistent about Anytime is its inconsistency.

IMHO, Princess should get a backbone and any Traditional diner using Anytime should lose their place in Traditional. A permanent switch. I understand that there are sometimes medical exceptions and that should be OK. Also, there should never be reservations.

That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. :)

Way to go Pam. After every cruise, I complain about having to have reservations if you want anytime dining. I prefer less structure, since I am on vacation.

Whenever we starting cruising with Princess, anytime dining was a welcome feature, but they have succumbed to the seat everyone in traditional no matter how it disrupts anytime. If one wants traditional, they should book the cruise early enough to get the seating they want.

  9. We are considering booking our flights thru Princess. Having never done this before I have a couple of questions. First it confuses me as to why the 'flexible' air prices generally seem to be less than the 'restricted' air prices.

    1. If you book a flexible reservation, is the price then fixed at the time of booking?

    2. The fine print says that your flight is confirmed at the time of booking even with the 'flexible' reservations. So are you confirmed on the flight(s) that you have selected?

    3. Do you receive a record locator number for your flight reservations? I.e. Are you then able to view your flights on the selected airlines website? Can you select your seats on the airline's website? Or do you possibly not get a record locator number until the flights are paid for?

Thanks for any answers you can provide.

In February, I booked air from DFW<>FLL for $649, in April I saw on Princess air that the fare had been reduced to $349. I called our Princess Rep and immediately got re-booked at the new fare. The tickets had already been issued, but no problem.

Princess air flex is very good.

  10. Looking at the deck plans for the Island and Coral I see there are what appear to be (viewing?) balconies on the rear of Decks 8-11. There are doors shown so are they open to the public? They would appear to be good for going through the Panama Canal.

The forward balconies are only available whenever the ship is not underway, other than the canal. Great viewing and I will definitely be there when we go through on the Coral on 1/3/2014
