  1. We have gotten one upgrade on Royal - from an aft D1 to a mid-ship JS. No extra $$ involved.

In fact, I have changed our upgrade preference on the website to reflect that we don't want an upgrade. We typically book b2b or b2b2b cruises, and if we were to get an upgrade, it would probably be on the middle cruise of b2b2b. Would also most likely mean a change of decks as well. Call me a cynic, but we book a specific cabin because we like the location. Why move? Now, having said that, if the upgrade was from an inside to the Royal Suite, well..........

  2. Just got off the Serenade. We had $300 in OBC, so I went to the casino and asked for a $300 advance. The cashier asked if I was going to use it in the casino, I told him yes, so he gave it to me (plus a $15 "service fee"). Don't know what he would have done if I had said no.

  3. Unfortunately, there are no special perks for doing b2b cruises (I'm only talking about RCCL now). The cruise line looks at them as two separate cruises. The "buy one get one free" promotion for cruisers in certain levels of the loyalty program, and has nothing to do with b2b cruises.

It would be nice to get a discount on the second (or third) cruise, but no such luck. We have done several b2b and b2b2b cruises and have never gotten any special treatment, except occasional invitations to the Captain's table for dinner. The perks come from being at a higher leve kn the loyalty program.

  4. We've got one of them on deck 8 (Oceanview), where the old Crown & Anchor study was, and I'm hoping it does have floor to ceiling window, as from what I have seen on the post-refurb pics of the exterior of the ship, the glass facade is still there.

    Fingers crossed anyway :)

Yesterday we booked the Grandeur for January 2014. We had the same question regarding floor to ceiling windows. Our TA called Royal Caribbean and asked the question. The reply was "No, there are no floor to ceiling windows in the new category F oceanview cabins on decks 7 and 8. There are conventional windows, but they are larger (47" X 35") than other oceanview windows (39" X 35")."

Since they are "new" cabins, everything should be brand new - hopefully "real" shower doors rather than curtains......
