  1. I am a avid cruiser, and have been for many years. My first 2 cruises were as a 500+ passenger, the showers, chairs and everything else was fine for me Fantasy class ships. The only problem I really had was tenders when you go to shore on a smaller boat, it can be an athletic event if the sea is not really calm, heck I still have problems with tenders eventhough I am now 185lbs. My ex mil, also had a problem when she broke the ramp on dembarkation and almost fell between the ship and the dock. Also keep in mind that there will not be alot of free seating in the ports and the heat and walking combined can be extremly taxing, I still have problems with this, but we find a bar and get a drink, or sometimes if its safe I have sat on a curb in an alley thats close to the main street. Also be carefull of the sidewalks if there are any I have seen cracks, holes, and even broke a sidewalk in Belieze as a 185lb woman when I was expecting, so be watchful of anywhere on the ship or in port that could be a problem, medical care in the ports are spotty and may not be safe, and the medical care on the ship is really expensive. I developed a deep love of cruising while I was heavy and its the only way I travel now.

  2. They used "butter fish" on an Iron Chef America show recently "not the secret ingredient" LOL, but Alton Brown stated it is know for its "laxitive properties" I believe that is exactly how he said it. LOL forgo the stewed prunes and eat the fish. Sorry could not help myself, but it is known for it.

  3. In Dec our entire family my inlaws, my parents, hubbie, my son, and myself went on a 7 day. The day we were at the private island we had to tender over, first on the tender my son (20 months at the time) in his stroller, they just took him stroller and all over and gave him to a woman. Then it was my turn, by then the ramp was moving from the ship and I could see water where there was to be ramp. So they picked me up( 5' 9.5" 190 lbs of woman here so I am not light) and put me on the tender, then they got the rest of us on. If James had not been on that boat I would not have gone, I was so scared that I would fall and get smushed between those boats. It ended up being the best day of the cruise(wish on next trip had a private beach day).

  4. My husband and I were on our first cruise together. I had been sea sick and had to get an injection to help. Forward about 6 hours, I was feeling better and dressed for formal night and the captions cocktail party. I had a glass of wine, not thinking anything of it, got a second, after 2 sips, I pass out cold, falling backward, we were sitting on a bench. I woke up about a minute later the ships doc is there, saying she should of not had wine until tommorrow. Now the embarrassing part, I notice that my legs are straight up in the air, undies showing, I quickly got up and ran from the party.

  5. When we were in Roaton, I was expecting, and my feet and hands had started swelling. I was always taking off my rings, and misplacing them. My husband found a small wooden box, you could not put an egg in it, for me to place my rings in. It on my dresser and everytime I take off my rings to cook or clean, I run to the bedroom to put them in the box.
