  1. Yes it is posted online but it doesn't start till tomorow. Person at Princess said the price of the cruises could also change.

I hope this works for us

Just added it to an existing booking. No increase in price. Only difference is now I have the complimentary package. I received a new booking confirmation and a special services confirmation with the AIBP on it. Quick and easy- two minutes on the phone.

  2. Where do you think the Caribbean Princess will be over Christmas 2017? I see it ends on 12/20 in FLL and resumes 1/3. Could it be a drydock or charter?

First page of the PDF- its doing a 14-day Circle Caribbean.

  3. Hi All.

I see Princess is cruising Japan this summer. However, when I look to see dates for 2017 there aren't any listed for June, July or August. Does anyone know why? Will they be added? Have they been removed for some reason?

I'm trying to plan for a trip in the summer as I'm a teacher and can only travel then.

Thanks so much for you insight or other cruise line suggestions.

Just did a quick search on Princess.com- I see 16 different options for Japan cruises on Diamond Princess for the June-August 2017 time period. Are you looking at a different site?

  4. Can anyone please tell me when this will be released?

Typically around March/April timeframe. It seems that Alaska and Europe itineraries are released first each year. I would keep an eye out beginning March 2016.

  5. Most of the April 2017 Caribbean cruises have been cancelled as the ships are being redeployed- mine included. There is currently another thread on this. If you used an FCC and don't rebook at this time it should be redeposited back into your account. Not sure about the perks if you do book another cruise that doesn't offer them. I would doubt the perks would be protected though.

  6. I just got an email that my 4/8/2017 cruise is canx. It looks like other April cruises from FL are also canx. All Princess offered was to roll over my deposit to another cruise and a $15 credit per person. Even NCL offered much better than that. What is the usual policy and what have others gotten when their cruise was canx?

The $15 credit is pretty standard nowadays- used to get nothing at all. My 4-19-17 was also just cancelled. 4th or 5th time this has happened to me now for an April Caribbean cruise.

  7. Sorry if this has been explained, but I can't find it using Search... We saw Crown twice in Alaska while on Grand and noticed a huge number 12 painted on the side. Anyone know why? (DH assumed Princess was expressing solidarity with Patriots fans in New England. I told him I seriously doubted it, but I'd ask.)

I thought it had something to do with the Seahawks, so I looked it up:

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (June 20, 2015) – Princess Cruises, the Official Cruise Line of the Seattle Seahawks, kicked off the “Sail with the 12s” Seahawks Fan Cruise today with a spirited onboard rally featuring Seahawks Wide Receivers Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse, the high energy Blue Thunder drumline, Sea Gals and mascots Blitz and Boom. Attended by hundreds of fans, the rally featured a special “Spirit of the 12s” flag-raising ceremony by local military veteran John Kaiser.

The seven-night Alaska cruise, sailing over Father’s Day, departed Seattle this evening aboard Crown Princess and offered fans the exclusive opportunity to meet with current players and alumni, including:

    •Former Safety Jordan Babineaux (2004-2010)

    •Former Guard Edwin Bailey (1981-1991)

    •Tackle Justin Britt (2014-present)

    •Tight End Cooper Helfet, (2012-present)

•Hall of Fame Quarterback Warren Moon (1997-1998) and current commentator for Seahawks Radio

    •Defensive End Gregg Scruggs (2012-present)

•Ring of Honor Quarterback Jim Zorn (1976-1984)

Fans will hear them talk about off-season moves, the 2015 game schedule and their favorite memories as Seahawks during Q&A sessions, meet-and-greet autograph signings and photo opportunities.

The cruise to Alaska will feature spectacular glaciers, abundant wildlife and the area’s incredible natural beauty with stops in Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, and Victoria, B.C., with scenic cruising in Tracy Arm Fjord. On board, guests will also enjoy the line’s new North to Alaska! program, created in partnership with local experts and featuring a variety of authentic Alaska culinary, educational and entertainment experiences designed to delve deeper into the fascinating frontier guests are exploring around them.

The fan cruise builds on the partnership Princess Cruises and the Seattle Seahawks established last fall, offering fans special cruise deals on Princess cruise vacations and opportunities to win a cruise. Princess Cruises also shows NFL games on its giant “Movies Under the Stars” poolside LED screen and throws tailgate parties at sea on Caribbean cruises and West Coast cruises, allowing football fans to catch the action-packed season during their cruise vacations.

  8. My Transatlantic on board the Star (Copenhagen to Tampa) has also been cancelled. They have offered me 3 options but when I looked at these options on the NCL website they do not correspond?

My trip was 15 nights and the other options are 13 and 14 nights so their offer to maintain the original price isn't so generous.

There are obviously big changes ahead but I will wait for the announcement before I decide.

Any chance you could give any details of the other options? It might lead to hints about the upcoming deployment changes (i.e. is another ship replacing Star in Tampa)?

    Thanks,

  9. I am trying to find out why princess have no published cruises to the Baltics in 2016. Does anyone know why or if they will release these cruises later this year?

These should be released in the next couple of months. Europe 2015 was announced on March 13, 2014. I would imagine a similar timeframe again this year.

  10. For our '70s celebration we will bring on board some bottles of Cold Duck, Lancer's, Blue Nun and a jug of Paul Mason "Hearty Burgundy". After sharing all of that with the other passengers, maybe we can organize a "Key Party". (Although now, it would have to be a "Cruise Card Party".)

Don't forget the Riunite on Ice. That's nice!

  11. How many have tried to use EZ Air and find the flights shown are not available?

We have been trying to book for weeks, but get the same answer. "This leg is not available". I wouldn't mind this if they would just take the unavailable flights off. We finally decided to book our own airfare.

I recently had to call Princess directly when trying to book eZAir flights for my parents- every flight that came up said not available once I got to the final stage where I was asked to confirm the booking. My flights for the same cruise were booked very quickly and easily via eZAir on the Princess site. My parents are flying out of DFW and I am flying out of BUF but we wanted to get on the same flight to Athens from JFK. The Princess Rep (who was great by the way) put me on hold for quite a while she contacted eZAir directly. After a good half hour, they were able to book the flights we wanted and exactly what was showing as unavailable on-line. Not only that, but the Rep got a fare that was about $120 pp cheaper that what was showing on the website. I don't know how she did it, but she did and we were all quite happy. My suggestion is to call- make sure you have some time on your hands, though. As I found out, it could take a while.

  12. I switched from a 7-day Getaway to an 8-day Getaway a week later for next year because the additional day was a port stop in St. Maarten and I really wanted to go back there. The itinerary is St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Tortola, and Nassau. I know it's only one cruise, but I thought some people here might want to know about it- November 7, 2015. It looks like Getaway is transitioning to Western Caribbean cruises and will sail on Sundays instead of Saturdays- hence the 8-day for the last of the Eastern Caribbean ones in Fall 2015.

  13. Last week, we spent part of a day in Martinique, from the HAL Noordam. The tour we took- St. Pierre and Balata Gardens- was the best tour we took on this cruise. As many know first-hand, Martinique is a beautiful, lush island. The part we toured, from Fort-de-France to St. Pierre, then through a Rain Forest to Balata Gardens and then to Balata Church- was clean and well cared for. People were friendly- especially our guide-Yves.

We didn't know what to expect and were interested to spend time learning about Mt. Pelee, the volcanic eruption, and later-about the flora of the Caribbean at Balata.

Another highlight of the day was cruising from the port, past Mt. Pelee where one could see the path of the volcanic eruption all the way to the sea.

Martinique would be a good place for adults to vacation- especially adults who know some French. We have been to St. Martin, now to Martinique, and look forward to visiting other French islands in the future.

    Hi April-

We went to Martinique on the Sea Princess this past April and found the island to be stunningly beautiful. We did the Land and Sea tour that took us by boat to St. Pierre- the volcano is quite impressive and the trip over was great- and then took us by land to Balata Church and straight through the lush rainforest back to Fort De France. What a drive and not for the faint of heart! We then had plenty of time to explore the capital by ourselves before heading back to the ship. Our U.S. dollars were readily accepted everywhere and we actually found the language barrier to be somewhat of an adventure. We did what we could to communicate with some people and found the responses to be both cautiously friendly and amusing. I thought it was a great day. I can't understand the attitudes of some people who expect to be catered to like they are the most important people in the world and demand that the natives conform to their customs and/or wishes. Martinique is gorgeous and exotic, and in my not so humble opinion, well worth the stop. I would love to return someday.

  14. Are you attempting to do ship excursions or on your own?

If you are attempting to do an excursion on your own, prior to leaving the gated area, there is a tourist booth staffed with people who will give yous suggestions.

Once outside the gates, there will be taxi drivers offering island tours to the beaches and other places. Be aware due to the Euro being the primary currency that the pricing will be slightly higher. Also, make sure that a final price is set before leaving. Some of the drivers can speak and understand English and others have a more limited knowledge.

If you just want to head to Fort-de-France, the more people in the van, the cost will go down. The price was about three bucks. There was a drop off stop where you can return back to the ship. This taxi stop is also near the ferries and near the center of town.

I really enjoyed my stop in Martinique and hope to return.

Thanks for all of the good advice! I plan on bringing Euros with me to use in Martinique. Since no excursions are listed for Martinique on the Princess site, I thought I'd get some ideas of what to do there. I am intrigued about the possibility of going to St. Pierre, I just don't know how pricey it would be to get there and back. Going to Martinique was the biggest draw for me, actually, when I began looking at the Sea Princess cruise. I think it's the mystery of the island, with not many stops there compared to the other islands. Another choice would be to get the ferry and go to one of the southern beaches, but I prefer the St. Pierre idea. Princess will probably have an excursion that goes there- Holland America does- but I guess I'd prefer to go on my own.

  15. I would love to travel to Martinique someday, but I don't think that Princess cruise ships go to Martinique unfortunately! We love sailing with Princess so hopefully they will travel there someday!

I'm going to Martinique on the Sea Princess in April 2011. I was hoping to find some suggestions for excursions here.
