  1. Looking for assistance, as we normally sail the Caribbean ports. I am looking at the Carnival Puerto Vallarta excursion called Yelapa & Majahuitas: Beach, Snorkeling, and Waterfall. Has anyone done this excursion? If so how was it? It has good reviews on Carnival site. We sail mid March, so I am hoping the water is warm too. Since the excursion is 9:30 - 3:30 and we sail at 8pm, I am also hoping to get down to Melancon. Is there sill plenty of time to do this after we get back?

    It’ll be an hour different.

we went last year for spring break and we’re going on the panorama with you on 3/14.

ship time will be 1 hour different then port time in Mazatlan/PV

Thank you for clarifying the time difference. I’m guessing Cabo time is 1 hour ahead of ship time. Is this correct?

  3. Thank you for the recommendation, but our port time is 10am to 7pm. I am looking at a whale watch tour from Whale Watch Cabo. The departure times are 12 and 3 for a 2 1/2 hour tour. I would prefer the 12 time, which is why I’m asking about if there is a difference between ship time and Cabo time.

    Hi,

It is a bit unusual for a ship to come in so late at 9AM. We often cruise out of there and are usually outside by our car by 8:30AM! Ordinarily I"d say 12:15 would be easy but Panorama is soo big and new that we don't really know how it will work.

On Saturday traffic won't be bad but allowing for late ship arrival ,if you are off by 9:30 you can be at LAX before 10:30. For me that would be OK. Not sure how early you like to be at the airport and LAX is a busy one.

    Thank you for the information.

  5. We will be sailing on the Carnival Panorama in March 2020. We have sailed from various ports, but never from Long Beach. I have started looking at flights to see times that will work. It looks like the best flight for us is at 12:15pm. The ship is scheduled to arrive at 9am. We are Platinum and always do self assist, so we will be part of the first group off the ship. How long does it take to get from Long Beach to LAX on a Saturday morning?

  6. Our flight does not arrive into MIA until 12:30am. We are coming in late, but still have an entire day before getting on the ship. You never know what the weather will Belize, so decide to take a flight two days before sailing. I would prefer to take Uber from MIA,but concerned about our arrival time. Has anyone had issues with using Uber on aThursday night around 12:30am or how long did you have to wait?

  7. I'm looking into reserving the dune buggy excursion with Pro Excursions.  Could someone explain more about the transportation from the cruise terminal to Pro Excursions?  It mentioned that you take a cab both ways and Pro Excursions sets this up with a different company.  Also, has anyone done this excursion recently?

  8. Looking for recommendations on rental car companies at POM. Our flight does not leave until 5pm out of FLL and would like to spend the morning and early afternoon at FLL beach area. So we would return car to FLL. We have have already done a few of the post cruise excursions to other locations and just looking to walk around and enjoy a nice lunch before our flight home.

  9. There are several excellent "self-excursions" available including jungle ATV tours and some of the best day sails anywhere. We've enjoyed a daysail to Catalina Island with Pro Excursions and to Saona Island with Seavis Tours. The latter is in smaller motorboats with a scenic tour of the mangroves and rocks followed by a couple hours on the beach at Saona (with off the beach snorkeling) and then a stop at the Natural Pool with starfish. A great day! The Pro E Catalina daysail is on a nice cat with beach/snorkel time and a cruise past the beautiful homes of Casa De Campo and perhaps a run up the River Chavin. But check their sites for offerings, both are top notch outfits and Seavis is very good at working with the Carnival schedule changes. They arrange for taxi pickup as well - very easy.

You'll find more on both of these in other threads here if you want to search.

Can you recommend an ATV tour from La Romana? We have been to Amber Cove, but not to LaRomana and would like to take an ATV tour not through the ship.

  10. When are you sailing? Time of year will have a huge effect on prices...

We are sailing mid-January. We've stayed at the Holiday inn-Port of Miami in the past, looking at Miami Beach for something new. Not concerned about a resort with a beach, as we just plan on walking along Miami Beach. So trying to decide weather to stay at Holiday Inn again then Uber down to Miami Beach for the day. Then that night spend it having dinner around Holiday Inn-Port of Miami.

  11. Looking for recommendations for a pre-cruise 2 night stay at a Miami Beach hotel. Would like to stay around $150 or a little more a night also. I'm thinking that it would be easier to stay at the southern end of Miami Beach due to the ease of getting to POM too. Also, would we need to rent a car from MIA to hotel to POM or just use a cab/UBER? TIA

  12. Our family just returned from our Spring Break Cruise on the Carnival Glory. This was our 9th cruise with Carnival. I'm very disappointed with how Carnival manages the kids programs. During each of our cruises our son's have been attending the initial night mixer to meet other teenagers on the cruise. Unfortunately our high school senior was not allowed into Club O2. This was due to him already turning 18 years old. He even brought his high school ID to prove that he is attending high school. After talking to the Kids Program director to see if there is any chance of changing this we were told no that he will not be allowed into Club O2. I then asked what recommendations she has for a high school senior to meet other individuals his age. The response from her was that he can gamble, attend the late night dance club, or the comedy over 18 shows. Not really the recommendations that I was hoping for. Carnival really needs to rethink allowing high school students into Club O2! Overall he did enjoy the cruise, but it was a totally different experience then what he is used to and has decided that he won't be taking anymore cruises with us.

  13. Looking for something different to do during our stop in Cozumel and not just visiting a beach for the day. Has anyone experienced the Cozumel ATV City Tour and Beach Club Snorkeling? One of the things that I like about this is they will let a 14 year old drive their own ATV, which is a big plus when you are a 14 year old that knows how to drive. From reviewing cruise critic and trip advisor I'm locating positive reviews for the company, just not for this excursion.
