  1. Hi, just got back from two cruises using a cycler.  One was out of San Francisco to the Mexican riviera for 10 days in January.  The other was out of Ft. Lauderdale to the Caribbean.  Both were on princess.  I wanted to let you all know that it is possible to do it!  We had a wonderful time and have now booked a cruise for the fall out of Montréal.   My husband loves to travel and having these trips to look forward to is life changing.  In both instances Baxter delivered the solutions to the port and we brought the other supplies.   It takes planning, but is so worth it.  It looks like Montréal will be more challenging, but we are going to make it work.  If anyone has any questions, let me know.

  2. Does anyone know if when you leave your cabin the electricity cuts off because the medallion is no longer in the room?  We have some electricity needs for a medical device that needs to be powered on in the early evening.  Thanks!

  3. We are cruising for the first time since my SO started PD.  We will be in a veranda cabin on Crown Princess.  I was wondering if we would need an extension to the drain line to drain to the bathroom in our cabin.  Does anyone have any knowledge about this?  Also, do you drain into the shower, commode or sink?  Thanks for your help!

  4. I have had club class twice and was waitlisted for my next cruise.  Yesterday it came through and I didn't blink - upgraded!  I like to go on a cruise to be more spontaneous, lay back and not stand in lines.  I think the service is better and so is the food.  The waiters want you to be pleased and go out of their way because they see you every day and possibly multiple times.  Also, I like to be mid ship.  For us, these things are important.  For others, it may not be.

  5. I just got off the Sirena and had a wonderful cruise.  The one change from my last cruise with Oceania was the evaluation form is now filled out online while you are on the cruise.  I really didn't like taking my time while I was on vacation to fill it out, so I didn't.  I would rather be off enjoying myself than filling forms.  What does everyone else think?

Let's keep in touch as interested in your thoughts after your Sirena cruise.  Our cruise on Insignia is for November 2022.

Thanks Gary - I checked out the U-tube videos - I think it will be ok for us.  I have asked for an upgrade to a penthouse, but if it doesn't happen, this will be fine.  We are scheduled to go in June - here's hoping!

  7. Just got off the Coral on Friday.  We are also Platinum and had the same question before we sailed.  We contacted Princess to see if the discount offer was better than what we would be offered on board.  They said it was - but it wasn't!   Anyway, after reading these boards we decided to wait until we were onboard.  Sure enough, the offer on board was like the chart above, much cheaper.

We purchased the 4 device option and used it freely whenever we wanted to without worrying about logging off, etc.  Could even post pictures on facebook or make a whatsapp call from the ship.

By the way, the wifi only recognizes devices that see color - so my kindle couldn't download books on board.  Have a wonderful time, we did!

  8. We were on that cruise two years ago.  There was no shuttle into Edinburgh.  It was quite far.  Some tablemates took a taxi to the train station and then into the city from there.  We took a walking tour, but it didn't give us more than 30 minutes on our own.  Those that hadn't signed up for tours in Edinburgh didn't make it into the City at all and were really disappointed.
