  1. When are the Elegant Nights on the Conquest? I am trying to figure out what night to book the Point. It's going to be a surprise for my DH as we are celebrating our 30th anniversary (4 months early!) on this cruise. Thanks.

And did I say we only have 6 more weeks! Woohoo!:D

We have done the Conquest on the Western itinerary (Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel) twice and both times the Elegant Nights were on the evening of the first day at sea and the evening after leaving Grand Cayman. Not sure about the Eastern itinerary.

  2. I was the OP asking the question about laser tag…

We just got off Conquest on Sunday.

It is $5/pp for 5 min and it is inside an inflatable balloon.

Depending on the age for your kids – maybe they may not enjoy it, espcially if the have played at Main Event.

My kids are 11 and 8 and they enjoyed it.

We got there 15 min after is started and waited about 15-20 min to go in, but you are sitting down while you wait.

I agree with you. We went as a family with our two kids (ages 15 and 12). We didn't feel the need to do it more than once, but we had a good time.

  3. Would a recent Conquest guest please let us know what the major productions shows are. A copy of the Fun Times entertainment section would be a god send.

Shows for last week (June 20-27) were:

Sun - Welcome Aboard (w/ Comedian Dean Gaines)

    Mon - Voila Paris!

Tue - Motown Showtime (w/ Ron Joseph)

Wed - Magic & Illusion (w/ Lady Hellevi)

    Thu - Point & Click

Fri - Variety Showtime (w/ Juggler Manuel Zuniga and Comedian Marc Rubben)

    Sat - Carnival Legends

I have all of the Fun Times from last week. I'll post them as soon as I have a chance to scan them.

  4. Is the limit of 1 liter/adult enforced when returning into Galveston?

Is it cheaper to buy from the Duty Free ship board store, or a DF shop in Grand Cayman?

Not sure if the limit is strictly enforced, but I was asked when I came in how many bottles I had (I was within the limit).

I found the prices in Grand Cayman to be a little better than the ship on the few things I compared. The ship selection is limited as well.

  5. We just bought a liter of "can't get it in the US" rum in Jamaica for $16. Appleton.

Warning: The woman in the duty free shop would not take US cash that was not the new (colored) kind. We had to go back to the ship for a swap.

You are aware that you can only bring 1 litre per adult duty free.

I also bought a liter of Appleton Estate (12-yr old reserve) in Jamaica, then found it for a couple dollars cheaper in Grand Cayman! Next time we'll save our alcohol purchases for there.

  6. Since we can bring 1 bottle of wine per person on the ship with us. I wanted to pick-up the wine locally rather than schlep it from NY.

So, I looked up liquor stores near the port and every one that I have called so far seems to be gone - no answer or, non-working number.

Does anyone know of any open liquor stores near the port?? If so, can you supply the name and phone number??

    Thank you so much.

    Lynder

I don't know what liquor stores are near the port, but you can buy wine in most grocery stores (but not before noon on Sundays). If you are coming into Houston before Sunday, I would suggest stopping at a grocery store along the way, or look for a Spec's liquor store (http://www.specsonline.com/cgi-bin/snf?body=/cgi-bin/locate). They usually have great selection.
