As a follow up I purchased the Bus Touristic today and got a 2 day pass.  I did both of their routs and there were no complaints.  I did look for the Red Bus and only seen one all day.  I did see lots of the Bus Touristic busses.

Thank you so much. That makes my decision easier. I can't seem to find any information on where their stops are. I am looking for the closest one to our hotel. We are staying at Radisson Blu 1882. Any idea where I can find this info?

    Thanks so much.

  2. We will be cruising on the Celebrity Edge on August 7.  We need an antigen test up to 72 hours before to board the flight to FT Lauderdale, then Celebrity will give us a PCR test free of charge Up to 72 hours before we board the plane back home.  Since we will be back after August 9, when our border is opening to US residents, we do not need to take the antigen test upon landing back in Toronto and no quarantine.

Luckily I did not get caught in the mixed vaccine nightmare. I feel bad for those who did.

I will be watching Don''s Family vacations on Yutube as he is Canadian.  I think he boards this weekend.

    • Car rental shuttle buses DO NOT travel between Port Everglades Cruise Terminals and Fort Lauderdale Airport
    • Car rental shuttle buses DO NOT travel between Port Everglades rental offices and the Fort Lauderdale Airport Car Rental Center
    • Car rental shuttle buses ONLY travel between Port Everglades Cruise Terminals and Port Everglades car rental offices!

Thus, after your cruise you will not find a car rental shuttle bus waiting to take you to the airport car rental center! You will be taken to a Port location (along Route 1) where you meet your rental vehicle. No shuttles to the airport and no shuttles elsewhere such as 17th Street.

Here are Port Everglades car rental offices with port shuttles:

Thank you so much!!!!  This is so helpful. I don't know why the rental companies didn't tell me that.

    Thanks again 🙂

  4. I have telephoned a few car rental companies such as Alamo and they are saying that they do not have a shuttle to pick us up in order to get to the car rental after the cruise.

Does anyone know if there are some companies that I can use that will shuttle us to get a car and I can drop it off same day at FLL airport?

I have always done this out of MIA port. Not sure if FLL is different.

    Thanks for your help. 🙂

Can be if you have to cancel and one of you can't cruise within 1 year from date of cancel. Beats loosing up to $450 per person I pay on my deposits. That's part I hate, having 6-10 deposits out at one time. Not going happen but wish Royal had $50-100 deposits like others

I often cancel cruises as it depends if I can get the time off, for me it's an easy choice for no hassle. I won't necessarily book again within a year. The best part for me is that after I posted my reply above , I went to check rates as I decided to change my floor, and rates went down so I saved an extra 130.00. Now I even feel better about paying the extra 200 more to make it refundable. 🙂

  6. Did you book the Residence Inn on Christopher Columbus Drive in Jersey City? What exact dates will you be staying there? I'm booked there precruise for next Feb. It's right at the Grove St PATH station with direct access to both midtown and downtown.

Yes that is the hotel. Is it a good location? This will be my first time using the path system transit, I am hoping I can figure it out. I will be there August 26 to 28.

Are you planning on visiting NYC?

  7. Hello,

I just booked the Residence Inn New Jersey (I can still cancel it) for after my cruise. Can anyone tell me if this is a good location if we plan on visiting NYC without a car?

We are a family of four and we would like to visit the Statue of Liberty, and not sure what else, any advice would be great. We may do a hop on hop off tour bus.

I am driving myself crazy trying to find a hotel that will work. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

  8. Enjoy your cruise. We will be sailing Celebrity for the first time in July. We will be on the summit.

    Just a couple of questions

    1. How much is it to do a bag of laundry?

    2. What kind of activities do they have that can be family friendly?

    3. Do you think this cruise will be okay for 2 families with teen and adult children? We have only been on Carnival and RCI in the past. We are on the New England and Bermuda sailing.

    Thanks for any advice!

  9. We were on the Pride during the storm. From what the captain said, I understood that the captain kept rerouting us and we were closer to shore.

Having said that, we did experience crazy waves and a lot of rocking. But nothing too serious.

A few plates and cups rolled off tables a couple of times but that's about it.

    We were lucky.

Glad every one was ok. We were watching on TV and felt terrible for those people. It really was a scary storm.

On our way back home Pride also stayed closer to shore and we arrived a bit late.

  10. Hello,

My family has gotten 1 L bottle of water each in our stateroom (4 bottles) for the last 2 cruises and we are all Gold level.

My friend's family will be red on their next Cruise in Feb.

I told them they will each get a bottle of water but my friend is saying that she received something that said she is only receiving one for the room.

Has anything changed that I am not aware of?

We are wondering because we don't know if we should order water or not.

    Thanks for your help.:)

  11. Hello,

I am hoping someone can help me. I have been reading all the posts about the shuttles and I did not find my answer.

I will be on the pride in February and wanted to go to cocoa beach if the weather is nice and a mall if it is not.

Years ago, I used a shuttle that dropped off at mall, cocoa beach, and a third place for like 5 dollars.

Does anyone know what that shuttle was called and if it is still around?

Second, If I take the Ron Jon cocoa beach shuttle that lets you off at their store, how much is it? and is it right at the beach?

Third, I read that a taxi to Ron Jon cocoa beach is only 10 or 11 bucks, but to go to the beach it is 23. Isn't the store right near the beach?

Thanks so much for any help,

    Nathalie

  12. Felicia did actually ask us if we wanted our room serviced in the morning or the evening and did not tell us both was an option. We were perfectly fine with only having it once a day but most days she I think she did a quick touch up while we were at dinner too.

I thought we can get our room made up morning and evening. To me, that is one of the things I enjoy most about cruising. I think they ask like that so we only choose one.

I wonder if I can say both.
