  1. We are interested in going on a twilight cruise. We recently booked one through Island Tour Center not realizing it's departing from Hamilton. Wondering if I should cancel that one and book the one through Royal Caribbean since they are leaving from King's Wharf. By the time we pay for a ferry, price will be the same. Anyone know if one tour is better than the other? Or is it worth exploring Hamilton. We will most likely eat dinner on the ship, so not sure we will have much time to explore.

  2. thanks...leaving tomorrow and still haven't decided...is maho beach a must see?

my husband's excursion is 2pm so he'll be with us all morning.

thinking going to maho beach for 1/2 hour to 45 minutes, then heading to orient

beach for rest of afternoon. my husband can take cab back earlier for

the excursion, and we will stay at orient. unless we should just skip maho beach, or see it on the way back to the cruise without my husband.

  3. well...I do have 3 teenage boys but not going to worry about the toplessness...just watched some youtube video of Maho beach & I think

the kids would love it. That being said, do you still recommend

Orient Beach if we are going to combine the two beach? maybe when my husband heads back for the excursion we can head to Maho beach. Or is

    Mullet Bay closer?

  4. We will be in port from 8am to 6pm with two other ships.

Can't decide which beach to go to. Traveling with 4 kids who

would enjoy water activities, but would love to find a beach

not so crowded. Also, my husband and son are doing an excursion

through the ship and need to be back by 2pm, although the

rest of us will stay on beach. Thoughts on Orient Beach, or Mullet Bay?

No desire to see the planes at Maho...we live close to an airport.

    Thanks for your help.

  5. We are traveling with our 3 children - 17, 14 & 8 yr old.

I wasn't planning on renting a cabana because we are doing other excursions

but after reading all the wonderful reviews I am reconsidering.

Plus, just found out another ship will be in port the day we are at Labadee.

My husband hates crowded places & we both love shade. My kids will

most likely be in the water all day, with the exception of when

the older ones will be zip lining.

It's hard to tell by the map, but if we rent an over the water cabana,

would we be able to see our kids when they are at the Aqua Park and

when they are just playing in the water (I'm assuming there are designated

areas to swim?) If we can hang out in our cabana and watch them, it would

worth it for us. If we can't see them from our cabana, don't think it's worth it.

Any advise is very much appreciated. Thanks.

  7. His number is 907-209-5031, I emailed him(can't find his email, but I got it off this board, try googling him) and he called me the next day and we talked over an hour.

I am also trying to decide between using him & Chilkoot tours. I want to go to Fraser by train & take bus/van back, maybe do some gold panning.

Dave's recommendation is to not book anything, see how the fog is, and that day decide if you want to take the early train or later train, or if you

want to take train up/van back, vice versa... he's a really nice guy, very laid back, requires no deposit.

My concern is the train will be sold out. Dave said it never happened to him, I called the train & they said if you are somewhat flexible about the what train you are taking you should be fine.

Dave was $90 cheaper than Chilkoot tours (for 6 people, I didn't think it was a big difference)
