Stop on NCL Jewel on 11/5/14

Definitely a work in progress. We never left the tender dock area. We were just looking for some sand for our granddaughter to play in, and there was plenty of that right along the water front. We did have to watch her so she didn't step on the broken glass scattered along the beach just above the water line. (Recommend water shoes). There were 2 palm trees along the seawall far back from the water for shade. No beach chairs or umbrellas were available. Most of the sand was fairly soft, and it was easy to walk up the beach toward the town.

We only went out into the water a little (concerned we might step on glass we couldn't see). Water was a cloudy brown, not the clear, blue you might expect, with small waves. No reef anywhere in sight. Some folks were out swimming. The water was fairly warm.

There were toilets and a restaurant and lots of craft stalls and, of course, a jewelry store in the dock area. Prices on crafts seemed very reasonable and negotiable. Everything was priced in US dollars.

It was a pretty setting with very high, green hills rising above the coastline, but it was very warm and humid, and the sun was intense at midday
