  1. Hello

I’ve been on Ascent since Sunday and have yet to meet my stateroom attendant, I’ve cruised on celebrity (and other lines) before and they have introduced themselves on boarding day. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining as everything is perfectly fine with my room and is well serviced but didn’t know if they don’t introduce themselves anymore or we have a shy one.

Regarding Muster Station -   You will have it written on your SeaPass and one on the ship or slightly before it will show the exact location on your seapass.   In addition it will be clearly shown on the back of your stateroom door.

While they now do Virtual Safety Presentation you are required to go to your Muster Station to know where it is and to be checked in physically (scan of SeaPass) after boarding.

Depending on ship you may be able to obtain (not bring one) by making a request to your Stateroom Attendant.   Some of the ships that are based part of the year in the UK have a supply.   I always travel in suites and upper suites have them automatically and in Celebrity Suites I have been able to obtain one (based on availability) by making a request to the Butler.

    Thank you so much

The location of your muster station is on a diagram on the inside of your cabin door.

    No kettle.

Arriving early you may have to wait, hard to predict.  We have arrived on time and had to wait to be checked in and board.

    Thanks for the info

    1.  I am certain that they will NOT allow you to have a mini-kettle in your room.

    2.  Muster station C1, have no idea where that is, but ask your cabin attendant when he comes around to introduce him/her self.   They don't do the big muster station drill anymore - you just have to watch a video and then, IIRC, check in with staff at the muster station.

    3.  You'll be fine.  If you get to the port early they may let you board anyway or at worst you will have to wait a bit.

    Thank you so much

  5. Hello all

Boarding Ascent at the end of the month and just wondered if anyone has managed to get a mini kettle in their room?
Also, who do you ask? Is it  guest relations or room attendant. I know you can get room service but don’t want to trouble anyone for a tea in the morning.

Our Muster station is C1, where would that be?

We have a  private celebrity transfer and they are picking us up at 11:40am from our hotel in F.ort Lauderdale and it should take about 30 minutes, maximum to get to the port but our check in time is 1:30-2:00, has anyone experienced this?

    Many thanks x

  6. Why the two prices? I’m confused at other martini bars (on celebrity) its one price for the normal martini glasses. They sometimes have the really small glasses for flights and people that want the smaller martini but I’ve never seen two prices.

It could be that your previous room was for 3 or 4 people and a family have booked meaning you have been moved to a cabin for 2. It could also be to balance numbers for the Lifeboats.

From what I can see its the same size and class cabin....I’m not happy with the fact that they are saying its not in a saleable condition and I can see someone else being in there when we get on.  I didn’t think about the lifeboat thing though....why don’t they just say that, I’d prefer that.

    Thanks for replying, much appreciated

  8. We booked a New Years cruise on Divina in January just had a call from our TA to inform us that we have been moved to the room next door.  The reason given was that it wasn’t in a saleable condition....we still have over a month to go, so I cant see why? I’m new to MSC. What would you guys do (I cant work out if opposite the new room is a service room)?

    Thanks in advance

I’ve upgraded easy to premium for £8 pppd for our up coming cruise - no mention of losing anything that we booked I’ll be annoyed if I can’t get my massage 😱

Can I be really cheeky and ask what number you called? My TA tried to get an upgrade from an easy to premium or premium plus and it was coming out as £800 for just the premium (for a ten day cruise). I need to speak to your person

We always use cash onboard for our account.  Which ship are you going on?

If it is Seaside you may have the machines that you can register cash with and they also pay out any credit left over too.

We have been on Seaview, gorgeous ship, but I don’t remember if the machine paid out credits on there.

Meraviglia and Bellissima, the newest ships, had the machines where you can deposit money and have any credit refunded , I know for sure with those ships as we did it on both .

    have a fab cruise .

We’re sailing on Divnina. In the Caribbean over the new year.

I don't have any experience as we always register a credit card against the account, so I'm not sure, TBH, sorry.

However, as long as you don't owe anything at disembarkation, I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem.

    That’s what I thought.

    Thanks so much xx

Yes, you can, but be prepared to have to join a very long queue on the morning of disembarkation to receive any overage you're due (or to settle your account, should it be short).

On other lines we normally settle the bill before we go to bed on the last

    night, is that allowed?

On most other MSC sailings the currency is Euros.

Can you put an amount down when you arrive on the ship and pay more/get a rebate at the end ?

  14. Hey lovely people,

first time on a MSC cruise in December and we’re going to the Caribbean just wondered  what currency (cash) the bill needs to be paid in?

    Is it Dollars or Euros?

    Thanking you xx

  15. I have to agree with you. Got back two weeks ago and said the same thing, I saw a person dip her finger into her mango chutney(that was in her plate) and lick her finger. She then used the tongs to pick up some papdoms, once they were on her plate she proceeded to pick the papdom up and dip it in the chutney and place it in her mouth...licking her fingers again!!!! This happened a few times as she walked around the buffet!!!

And yes I did watch her, I couldn’t believe an adult would do that!!!

Someone had to touch all the tongs she had used (with her dirty hands). 🤮🤢🤮🤢😪
