  1. WS in JS on Wonder April 8. No real perks except for space. There is a hot water kettle, no used, and  coffee pot ,also not used. Was on deck 8 so I felt coffee on deck 5 or 8 was preferable. Soon hot on deck 5 I had to wrap to go cups with napkins! Not able te eat at CKitchen or use suite lounge. Plenty of other areas to enjoy.

  2. Oh I have mis lead you..... the points are rewards points from using the credit card. 3 points for each dollar spent on travel, 2 for gas and some other things and one for any other purchase. I now buy almost everything with a credit card to get the rewards points. A few years ago I got a NCL card.... so the points I use are credit card reward points from using the card for purchases. Essentially  if you do all the complicated math you save a ton of money. But you have to pay off your card each month.

  3. Re NCL prices. I cruised a lot on NCL until last year. Jumped to RCCL and was immediately added to their casino program and get comped cruises all the time. I had 3 cruises on NCL last year and had to reach out to them to finally get a comped offer. Prior to that I have booked inside rooms and upgraded using NCL credit card rewards points. 60,000 pts can jump two levels to balcony. It becomes 600 dollars but per their pricing tiers much less for the balcony (7 day gem last Nov).  I bid 100 for mini suite upgrade  and ended up in a 2 bedroom suite. 1100 each for 2. would have been twice that and more if we booked suite initially. You are right some cruise lines are outrageously priced.

I just got an email offer for comp cruise.  Offer 181RCL1108.

When I called to get prices for an upgrade on the Thanksgiving Brilliance cruise, they said that this offer has not yet been loaded into the system.  The same thing happened with the last such offer I got.  It took them about 3 days to get it all validated.  The rep told me to call back on Monday to get pricing and to book.

It seems so ridiculous that they would send these offers out before they even have them in their "system" whatever that means.  To me, this is one more clue that perhaps these offers aren't coming from Club Royale at all, but rather, are coming from the Revenue Department.  One hand not knowing what the other is doing and all of that...

We are already booked on the 1 Dec. Oasis cruise (the previous comp offer we got that was distributed before it was loaded into their system) so we will be doing a S2S with Brilliance 11-25 through 11-30, spending the night in Miami and then catching Oasis on 12-1.  That way we can do a twofer with the airfare; fly into Tampa and back out of Miami.

I'm averaging about 1 of these comp offers every 2 weeks.  The list of cruises is different every time.  This would also seem to indicate that Revenue is pushing this.  They seem to be cruises that still have lots of rooms available.  There are still 8 Grand Suites available on the 11-25 sailing of Brilliance.  I suspect that it's b/c this is a Monday-Saturday itin...not as popular as the weekend departures.  But with the holiday in there it's still a 5:4 for us so it's a winner !

I got the same offer on the club Royale site. I hadnt received any email offers lately. I called and asked them to send me the list of cruises offered and she id except she sent me the list for 1008 not 1108. so now ill call again tomorrow and try to get the correct list! I really dislike the call center in the Carribean. The Oregon folks are so much more competant! PS I received my Egg Hunt offer today!

  6. Disagree with the comment to drive. I have done 5 cruises from Bayonne last year and drove to 4 of them. Weekday leqving on teh same day left at 5 am and traffic was a bear from New Haven to Conn boarder, Have taken Merit parkway and it still was heavy traffic. If its just you Amtrak is way better. Get off in Newark and Uber to port. I'm taking the train for the second time next Friday. I'll message Uber costs when I return. Plenty of time to plan. I have a friend who loves to use Peter Pan buss. I believe cheaper than train.  Not sure where she gets off.

  7. Did walk off on the Dec Holiday cruise. Disembarcation starts at 7.  Line up for walk off by Wonderland. Maybe it was a fluke but we went before the group at 270. Were in the car (garage) and leaving by 7:15. Saturday traffic was a breeze. Got on the turnpike within 20 minutes. Doing this on a week day takes an hour. Way too much traffic. You shouldnt have any trouble getting cabs or ubers. they are swarming the exits from customs. Good Luck have a great trip.

  8. I have recently been on the Anthem and have never seen anybody approach younger adults to verify their age. You walk in, never scan your card or show your card. If they wanted a drink maybe they would figure it out if they asked for alcohol. I personally prefer other areas of th ship on colder days as  the air is stale, but thats just me. I do think the place it might become an issue is in the casino but if you are there and she is sitting quietly and not playing slots I think the girls would be fine.

Make sure they get to the shows!

Agree with the 2 balcony advice.

  9. Look at ncl credit card rewards page. I booked inside room next Nov on Jade 9 nights boston southern Carribean. Used 30000 points twice to upgrade to balcony from inside. I realized my AAA Bank of America card gives triple points for travel food and gass. NCL only gives triple for travel. I was able to transfer AAA points to NCL as they are both Bank of America. Points grow quickly with AAA.

  10. Dont know if anybody mentioned this or not because this thread is sooo long but. NCL credit cards only gives triple points for travel. AAA also Bank of America gives triple points for travel gass and groceries. the points can be transferred to NCL found by mistake. Does anybody know if owning NCL stock gives us anything as share holders????
