I was just in Antigua last Monday on the Freedom. We docked right in the capital in the main port area. There as another cruise ship there (German one, can't recall the name).
-
Our 8 day cruise on the Freedom originally had 4 stops. We did get to go to Antigua, which was added 2 days before departure and Nassau on our last day. We had a total of 5 sea days.
-
Fresh off the Freedom yesterday. We were denied entry to St Kitts and Grand Turk because of Covid cases with the crew. San Juan and St. Maarten were dropped two days prior to our departure.
-
Not sure about the Bob Marley bus excursion, but I don't recall seeing that in the offered excursions
-
Yes I did the inaugural restart on the Sunrise 8/14-8/19. We stopped on Ochos Rios and Bimini
-
Just off the Sunrise and capacity was way under full. Not sure the exact figure but would guess about 60%. The shows were Pretty empty and many chairs empty on the main lido.
-
The atteststion is just saying you are vaccinated. You need your original card as well. They check them at the port as well as negative Covid test results. Just got off the Sunrise this morning
-
Yes I am just off the Sunrise. We ported in Ochos Rios on Monday. You could
do Carnival Excursions and other “approved” taxis. We just went to the Margaritaville and hung out on beach

We just ours today at CVS. We are vaxed so we could get the Antigen (rapid). Very easy, in an out in 5 minutes and got the results in 30. No cost
CVS called and they also direct you to their "MY Chart" where you have a digital record and you can also print it off. I took my test at 9:50 and they called before 10:30

We are booked on the "Inaguaral/ Re-Start" Sunrise on 8/14

We also just got off the Sunshine. I was aware of the layout so that was not a big deal. This was our 10th Carnival cruise and by far the best cruise director (Jamie) and the best room steward we have ever had.
I didn't think the public spaces were crowded at all. I had read complaints about the Comedy club being booked. It was fine, just arrive on time.
Loved the many food options and the very large Serenity area.
Ports were great. I wouldn't recommend the De Palm Island excursion. I had read good things, but I think we hit it on a bad day.

Visual confirmation is the best!! ;) So cool to see the ships turn around in the inlet there in Miami. We stayed at the Intercontinental for our Breeze cruise. Our room had a huge picture window looking out at the port and we we up by 4:30 watching all the ships.
We are staying at the Intercontinental as well. Hopefully we will have a great view too.
-
Thanks. We will be in Miami anyway so will play it by ear. If I see the ship in port on Saturday when we wake up then we may go over there as normal.
-
We are sailing on the Breeze this Saturday and I have received both an email and voice mail from Carnival indicating that the embarkation is being delayed and we shouldn't arrive at the port until 1:30pm. Both messages indicated we should still depart at 4:00pm though.
Is this normal or just for crowd control so 4,000 people aren't showing up at the same time.
Just trying to plan our embarkation day.

I am actually staying in 2262 on the Breeze sailing on 1/18... Thanks for the great info:)

I took would like some Fantasy info. I just booked the 7 day out of Charleston that sails in August. I saled the Ecstasy 10 yrs ago.. So I know the ships have been updated since.
I'm with you NCTribeFan. I was thrilled to see something come to Charleston, but the prices aren't cheap. I live in the Charlotte area and can be in Charleston in 3 hrs.
I guess the prices are higher because they don't have the traffic that the Florida ports have.
Looking forward to Half Moon Cay. Never been there, but have heard wonderful things.
Is Sip and Cover Being Enforced?
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
Just off the Freedom this past Sunday. We were at 50% capacity. There were constant announcements about Sip and Cover, but no crew members were really hounding people about it. Most everyone I encountered wore their masks indoors as requested. There were a few that did not. I even saw a lady in the main buffet area maskless walking around looking at the food and such.
