  1. Two years ago I was on a cruise where Arno and his bears were also present. My partner and I are not bears en were not part of that group. We saw that they had a lot of fun together and contributed a big part of the good atmosphere on the ship.

  2. Sorry...but I don't understand that just because you couldn't find a seat in the DL (that happens often regardless if there are children or not) that was a "debacle".

If you were also unhappy in the CL where there were children too...why not just speak to the CL or better yet use your pre-loaded drinks elsewhere...as I suggested you could have just taken your drinks outside the DL door in the VCL where you could have still gotten your drinks and snacks easily.

The debacle was that we didn't felt welcome by the concierge of the DL. And I don't care about that drinks. It's the fact that it's sometimes nice to be a few hours in an area where there are no children. Why do parents otherwise bring their children to ocean adventure, I think for their own and children's pleasure? What I see mostly in that lounges is that children want to play and run. But maybe I'm wrong😉

  3. Any reason you didn't use the CL? Or take your drinks & snacks out into the VCL? We recently were on Adventure and the DL filled up fast every night ( a few kids too)....we took our drinks/snacks out there and even one of the waitstaff came out to check on us occasionally or when we would walk back in they insisted on carrying our drinks for us... This turned out to be a very nice option...no need to even use our pre-loaded drinks. Sorry you didn't think of this.

BTW: you only had a problem on a couple of nights on a 10 night cruise?

Yes, we did use the CL after that debacle in the DL. The only thing we didn't like the fact that there were quite a lot of children in the CL on most of the evenings. Some behaved but others didn't. They we're playing with a ball, run up and down, walked in and out and to the buffet. The waiter worked her butt off. The concierge and the waiter(s) were very helpfull and friendly in the CL. That's why we've spend the rest of the cocktail hours in the CL.

  4. 9 times out of 10 we can bring our children in the DL. If not, we go to the CL. Since the the CL is being eradicated and replaced with SL we no longer have that option. We hardly drink any alcohol as we have our children with us. We do love the snacks in there, that's the reason we go. The children will have a fruit punch and som shrimp/spring rolls before dinner.

On the few occasions we have been denied, it is always a 70+ diamond who complain and point finger.. Even though my children have a lot more cruises under their belt than them.

Stating that it is an environment with alcohol is a weak excuse. There is alcohol all over the ship. Now with all the packages you see half finished drinks all over the place.

    Inconsistencies are not fun.

Oeps, I'm a 51 Diamond Plus member and did complain and point finger last week on the Rhapsody. We were sent away by the concierge and asked to use our free drinks in one of the other bars because the DL was full. That was because several children were allowed in the DL however the letter we received from the concierge stated that children under 18 were not allowed to use the DL. So we went to Guest Relations and asked if we've missed something about allowing young children in DL. She called the concierge and came back to us that we could go back to the DL because he saved some seats for us. We got back and we're welcomed by a concierge who didn't like the fact that we went to GR. That was the second and last evening of a 10 night cruise for us in the DL on the Rhapsody:-(

  5. Just got the itinerary change email from Celebrity for 21/9 sailing and for the 12/10 sailing

Istanbul out, overnight in Athens, Rhodes and Crete added.

    "Dear Valued Guest,

Please be advised the Reflection 11 Night Eastern Mediterranean itinerary

has been modified as detailed below. The affected sail dates are as

    follows:

    (See attached file: RF 11nt 09-21-15, 10-12-15.doc)

  6. We haven't yet sailed with RCCL, but have joined the C&A. Are these Going Going Gone sales only for those who have already sailed with RCCL? I don't see them on the website.

    Thanks.

I just saw the lowered prices on a website from a very big TA in Dania Beach. They showed interesting prices on the boardwalk and central park balconys

  7. We were on a TA cruise on the Navigator of the Seas about 5 years ago. At the time, we were Elite on Celebrity so we got Diamond status on this ship. The "Diamond" cocktail event was held each late afternoon (5pm probably) and was in the Dungeon Lounge. It was "decorated" like a dungeon with iron cages with skeletons, whips and chains on the walls, quite dark, and was an inside area with no windows. Very claustrophobic.

The free drinks were only red or white wine or soda. Beer was a reduced price.

Celebrity's Sky Lounge Elite happy hour is so much better than that terrible Diamond Lounge in both atmosphere and drinks.

I think you have to book a cruise again on one of the ships of RCCL. It's totally different now. Unlimited wine, sofdrinks, beer, cocktails and

Liquors between 5pm and 8.30pm in the Diamond Club. Also 3 vouchers loaded every evening on your seapasscard to spend in other bars on the ship between 5pm and 8.30 pm.

  8. We've got upgraded yesterday from an OV to a Balcony D1 for our cruise in 2 weeks. Last year on the Navigator we've got with our group an upgrade for our 3 balcony cabins 6 weeks before our cruise. 2 balconys to junior suites and 1 to a Grand suite and a very large amount of OBC. This was because of a price drop, after final payment! And in the high season. 2 years ago we also got an upgrade from a family oceanview to a D2 Balcony. So 3 years in a row:D:D We're Diamond since last summer.

  9. I also live in THE Netherlands.

With the exception of Princess, hal,Costa and MSC I book all my cruises through an american ta. Much cheaper and more service!!

I found this on the page you mentioned:

Due to the various consumer protection laws in other countries, for the time being, the Best Price Guarantee is only available to U.S. and Canadian residents.

I have the same problems here in the Netherlands, one of my booking was €800,- cheaper last saturday, called RCCL, they told me they could do nothing, I have to contact AMCA (RCCL's representative in the Netherlands), did that, got a mail today, don't get it.

    That sucks.
