I went in December. They asked when checking in luggage whether you had power boards.
I recommend taking an Arlec Vertical Double Adapter $2.65 at Bunnings. I put mine in my shoe in luggage and didn't get confiscated
The power point sits right on the bench so I had difficulty charging my electric shaver because the cord pressed against the bench. The vertical adapter meant I could charge two things but I mainly used it for the elevation from the bench

I went on the Carnival Legend 6 December for 10 night cruise. Just two of us aged 49.
We enjoyed it but found nothing much appealed to us in the way of Daytime activities. Nights were fantastic. The shows were great and comedy club good.
Our cruise was the one at start of private school holidays so found most people were families probably aged 40-45 with teenage or younger kids. Most well behaved. There were 1000 people under age of 21 and 800 under 18 (direct quote from cruise director)
So depends on what you want out of it. If you want to be continually entertained, there are better options. Would I sail with them again - yes

I got off Carnival Legend last Tuesday and it was 1.5% charge on my final bill. Mastercard.

I flew Fiji Airlines from Brisbane - Nadi and return a week later in November 2013. It left and arrived on time, but gees check out their Facebook page and it is full of complaints about LA to Nadi.
It's a big call to risk it. If you are doing it to join a cruise, I would looking at arriving a few days before in case of delays. It's only a small plane doing Bris-Nadi though. Service was great. Food was ordinary

Last year I did the Easter Brisbane to Sydney one that was 3 nights. It left at 8 p.m. and went straight out of sea then at midday on the following day turned to go towards Sydney

I would do Balcony just for Milford Sounds. We did it on Princess and turned up the TV for the commentary whilst sitting on balcony

With Rhapsody on the Seas, when are the best deals on offer. I am looking at early December cruise 2014.
ATM, I can get $150 OBC for Outside Cabin or $300 OBC for Balcony. Do prices vary very much betqween now and say August?

This was my original post from last year. I ended up purchasing a Woolworths Global Roaming Sim Card. Cost $10 to purchase and put a $30 top up on it.
Very easy to setup and use. It is allocated an UK mobile number but I was able to be contactable on the ship and everywhere in NZ. Costs were very resonable as it used Vodafone in NZ.
I disabled my Data on my phone. Expiry is 12 months so as long as I recharge by November this year, I can keep the number
Highly recommended

We are from Brisbane Australia and we bought a "Woolworths Global Sim Card" from out woolworths Supermarket. It was able to be used on Sun Princess and in New Zealand. All details are on their website.
$29 cost with $10 included credit. We bought credit at Woolies before gonig but can also be topped up online. Valid for 12 months

I am on Virgin Mobile but pre-paid

I am wanting to either take a pre-paid mobile to NZ or buy a sim card over there to ring back to Australia to check on family.
What have you found to be best for this. Other option might be to purchase a phone card
We are back from P&O Pacific Pearl package

We were on Pacific Dawn last week and had the same issues but our restaurant food was always hot and no staff problems
Basically what I put it down to was the discount prices means lesser quality. I paid $250 each for a 3 day cruise.
The first cruise I did in 2002 was $6000 for 4 people in a cabin for 10 days. Same cruise in 2016 is a lot cheaper. Something has to give, that's why there are less staff, no afternoon tea.
It's like the $5 pizza, you get what you pay for
