  1. The ruins of Ostia Antica are about five miles south of the airport, so a stop there would only take you ten miles out of your way.

However, if your flight lands at 10:55, best case is you leave the airport around noon. What time do you need to be at your ship?

Thanks so much for your reply, Ostia Antica is worthy of a day's visit, stunning! The ship departs 1700 so we won't have more than an hour or so to have a fleeting stop past something small.

  2. Hello all

Our flight lands at 1055 on a Sunday and so we have a little time to get to Civitavecchia port before the ship departs (I realise it's around an hour to get from the airport to the ship once we've picked up luggage etc). This might be a long shot but I was wondering whether there are any roman ruins worth a detour to see before we get to the ship? We have booked a private transfer.

Our son is now 7 and just starting to appreciate what the Romans did for us!

    Thank you

  3. Child seats or booster seats (siège rehausser) are mandatory until age 10 in France. (Corsica is in France.) However, the law also says that restraints for children under 13 are NOT required in public transportation such as taxis, limos and buses. You are extremely unlikely to find a taxi that carries them. Bring your own.

The same exemption for taxis, etc. applies in Italy.

Thanks so much for your swift reply :-)

  4. Hello

We are travelling on a med cruise in August - with a 5 year old and 7 year old for the first time. If we wanted to visit an attraction (eg tortoise sanctuary from Ajaccio Corsica) we would need a private taxi but car seats would be needed.

Can anyone advise please if car seats are routinely available with port taxi's, should we bring our 'trunki' backpack/booster seats and if so would they be permissible?

    Thank you!

  5. Hi everyone

Not sure if this forum can help here, but I understand that QE has a card room. My mum and I played a bit of bridge around 15 years ago now and would love to go to a beginners session.

Does anyone know whether this may be available on our Jan 4-night cruise to Hamburg?
