Was it worth spending time there. Friends tell me it's so crowded it's not as fun as I probably expect. I thought I'd get a hotel near those trivoli steps n rome so I'm close to stuff to walk to see. So you didnt care for rome much? So far all I know is bring mosquito spray, rome has lots of mosquitoes.

I can still add the 3rd leg. And end in athens. Never been to either. Leg 2 stops in 2 ports in greece so I'll be there as a port stop 2 ports .. but ends in rome. I stop in athens and another greece port already leg 2 I already booked. Just depends how long I want to stay.. or which city. I'm clueless lol. No idea. Just wanted something different.

Rome is great but you only need a few days to hit most of the sights (including the Vatican).  We spent a week there on an anniversary trip and started to look for day trips outside of Rome after day 3.

  2. 1) Oasis class, especially the Amped Oasis for variety of things to do.

    2) Freedom class - Liberty of the Seas is our most sailed ship

    3) Voyager class - similar layout and features to Freedom class

    4) Radiance class - love the views of the ocean and size makes it easy to get around

    5) Quantum class - odd configuration compared to other ships but love 270

Have not tried Vision or Icon class

  3. Sorry to hear that.  Hope you get it resolved soon.  Doesn't help now but next time you can have the folks at Next Cruise release the TA while you're making the Book Later reservation (assuming you're doing it in person and not on the app).  All we had to do was sign an additional sheet of paper and they took care of the rest.

  4. When I ran into this issue, Club Royale had me email agencychanges@rccl.com to request releasing the reservation from my TA.  I included the Next Cruise reservation number, my name, C&A # and a brief explanation of the situation.  They released it within a couple of days and I finished the booking with the casino.

  5. The way I tend to look at cruise pricing is could I get a land vacation cheaper.  Currently I have 5 cruises booked for this year at an average price of $164 per night (inclusive of port fees, taxes and tips).  I can't get a decent hotel room in a good location for that price let alone food and entertainment.  Cruising is still a fantastic value relative to other options.

  6. Just got off Harmony and had multiple shows in each venue:

Grease and Columbus in the Theater

Fine Line and Big Daddy's Hideaway Resort in the Aqua Theater

1887 and iSkate in Studio B

So it may just be an Oasis issue and not an Oasis class issue.  We also could find jazz playing across the ship in different venues each night too (Central Park, Dazzles, Promenade, etc.).

  7. What I would love is the ability to accrue one set of points on both (or all three) brands but they keep their unique benefits.  This way I can continue to bounce between the brands and grow my status while still being loyal to RCI. It's tough to choose to book a Celebrity cruise currently when I'm almost Diamond Plus knowing that I have a mountain to climb to get to Elite Plus.  Celebrity's product is more in line with my current cruising needs but it's tough to walk away from the status on Royal.  Also it would make the trek to Pinnacle/Zenith more realistic, encouraging me keep my cruise dollars in the RCI family.

  8. Thanks for the review.  We're boarding this Saturday and was wondering how fast the tendering went in Cabo?  Capacity for our cruise looks about the same as yours and we are hoping to make a non Celebrity whale watching excursion at 9:00 when the ship gets there at 7:00.  I think that's plenty of time but would love anyone who has experienced tendering in Cabo to weigh in.  Thanks again!

  9. I'm on a cruise that is fully paid and departing in less than 45 days.  With the dramatic price drops on some close in cruises, I was wondering if there is any ability to change my reservation to another ship without losing everything I've paid for this cruise.  Has anyone ever done this or do I just need to be happy with the cruise I have booked :) ?

For reference, I'm on the Enchantment of the Seas in an interior for 7 nights and am interested in changing to the Anthem Transatlantic, 12 nights, in a balcony (which is currently priced less than my original cruise).

How can they charge 2.50 for a ice tea,  ice tea is free all over the ship.  Second thought, who would pay for ice tea when 25 feet away at Loco Fresh it is free. Other then that it looks pretty good.  $8 for a turkey leg is not bad, last one I bought at Disney World was $12. Just have to hope it really is smoked meats.

If it's fresh brewed ice tea or true sweet tea vs. that concentrated mess they serve for free, I might be willing to pay $2.50  around day six :).  Wonder if it will be included with the beverage package...

  11. Has anyone noticed if there has been an increase in the pricing of drink packages, dining options, wifi, etc. after a ship has been Amped?  I'm booked on the Oasis next December and am wondering what might happen to the pricing after they announce what's changing during the dry dock.  I know I could go ahead and "lock in" the current pricing but I'd like to wait until the Christmas bills are paid...

  12. Having tried the Freedom, Oasis and now Quantum class, my family and I agreed that the Quantum class was our least favorite. Now that's like saying I prefer a ribeye and a filet over a NY strip. They're all steaks and steak is great :) Our nitpicky reasons were that it feels too enclosed vs. the other types. The one story MDR's felt out of place. The Esplanade was tight and traffic never seemed to flow very well. I understand why two of the pools are covered (four season cruising) but I like my pools to be opened to the elements.

Having said that, we loved the Music Hall, iFly, the Escape Room and 270. We Will Rock You was a great show and the live music across the ship was top notch. You asked if teenagers would enjoy the ship. My 17 year old did his usual find a group the first day and then we rarely saw him the rest of the cruise. He loved it but still preferred the other classes as well. Now if we can only get an Oasis class to homeport in Galveston...

  13. There is a chance to go standby but it's not clear where to line up to wait. Our group had a large family who had a couple of no shows so they let in four more who just happened to poke their heads in at the right time. It's about an hour and fifteen minutes between each game so you could end up waiting a long time for nothing if you don't sign up in advance. We really enjoyed the escape room and would love to try it again on another ship.

  14. Don't know the specific answer to your question but we took a ride on the Dragon Tail just a couple of weeks ago. My recommendation is not to book this in advance and just head over to the coaster whenever you want to ride. It's not a busy attraction and they will sell you a ride right on the beach for the same price. Also, just buy the single ride. If you love it and want to go again and again, they will upgrade you to an all day pass for the difference in price. Hope this helps.
