What ports do you want to visit?  What’s on your bucket list?  I suggest you go to www.cruisetimetables.com and choose Singapore, and several other Asian ports as your departure port.  Then choose when you want to cruise.  It will show you who is cruising and their itineraries.  If you find several that intrigue you, go to the boards here for those cruise lines and ask for opinions of the cruise/ itinerary.  Visit the ports of call boards here to see what people have done there.  Maybe look in the member review section here for reviews of those or similar cruises.  Lots of research ahead of you!

    Thank you.

NOT a "brilliant" idea. Normal hotel check-in would be 3-4 pm. And finding a "day room" deal close to a port on a "turn around" day can be a real challenge. In addition, with 8 people, you're talking about two or more rooms and you still haven't addressed the transportation component.

All things considered: Your best bet will be my previous custom tour recommendation.

Thank you for pointing it out, I know exactly what you mean. I’m going to see what tours I can pick up from San Pedro I think it is. In fact NCL was offering a tour but it got us to the airport by 2pm, just did not want to be stuck at the airport for so long.

Thank you so much for you help, I appreciate it very much.

Take a taxi(s) from San Pedro to Long Beach to the Queen Mary (Hotel) and spend the day exploring her, have lunch on her or in the area, buy some souvenirs,  take lots of pictures...then get cabs to the airport.  EM

That’s a brilliant idea, so just book a room for one day to store luggage you mean, How much time should we allow to get back to the airport?

    thank you.

  4. So we depart our cruise at Los Angeles in the morning but our flight back to the U.K. is not until 1900 hours, we are a group of 8, my question is we were thinking of rent a van for the day, it’s sunday o we need to pick it up at airport, some people have said that it is not a good idea due to the fact that getting across town can take ages, would you recommend renting? We just wanted to pick up a few bits to take home with us, we have our luggage what we can leave in the car when doing shopping.

    thanks

  5. I have booked a Beachside Cabana at Royal Palm, it states that they are for 6 people, we have 7 people but not all want to use Cabana, can I order a chair alongside the Cabana or are the chairs on a different area?

  6. I booked the spa as my husband loves spending time in the spa area but I read the posts and people much preferred the Havana area so we are bow in the Havana balcony, however my grown up kids were in the Harbour area I had hoped they might be able to join us sometimes but read that it is not allowed so 5hey now have 2 inside Havana cabins, my worry is that they tried a inside cabin in the past and hated it because it felt like a prison cell with no windows, I’m now worried I have made the wrong decision, but to upgrade to balcony Havana is near on £1000 more expensive. Will they like their inside cabin?

  7. I'm guessing a cruise is the same but when my daughter went to Europe last summer they said it couldn't expire withing 6 months of travel date.

We are English. My daughters passports run out in June. We are doing a med cruise next month, Carnival said that the passports are good to use as they are valid for the cruise dates.

  8. We have sailed on NCL about 9 times, RCCL 3, Disney 2, Princess 1, Carnival , (soon to be 3) Cunard 1, Fred Olson 1.

I agree cutbacks and cabin crew have gone down in the last few years. You don’t get anywhere near the service we got on our first cruise in 2010, you were welcomed and nothing was to much trouble, nowadays it’s very rare that you get anywhere near that.

  9. The flight I'm looking at is from Miami to Las Vegas on November 6th, we could also fly from Fort Lauderdale. We are disembarking at 8am, I have been looking at a flight that can get us in earliest as possible that day, United offer direct leaving 11.50am, just over 5 hour flight if I remember correctly, also Americian airlines have a flight that gets us in before 6pm, bug they are nearly $100 more. There will be 9 of us, we did consider a later flight but hanging around having a bit of lunch and getting later flight, but with having to drag luggage around with us I think we would be better getton on our way.

  10. Hi, wondering if anyone can help with my flight question, I'm looking to book a basic economy, is there a checked hold baggage included in the price? When I read up it looks like there is but I want to make sure before booking as in the UK budget airlines offering basic economy normally charge extra for any hold luggage.
