I rented a scooter from Special Needs at Sea.  They know what size the cabins are and will tell you what will fit.  I had this scooter on Equinox in a regular (not a handicap cabin) in January 2020.

That was EXACTLY what I needed!!!  Many thanks!!

  2. I am considering renting a scooter for my partially handicapped husband.  Can anyone tell me if they take up too much room in the cabin to move around freely?  On the Equinox, for instance, where would you put the scooter when you're in the cabin?  Thanks for any advice.

  3. My husband and I are cruising on the Ruby Princess later this month.  He can walk with assistance but has balance issues and is a fall risk.  We wanted an accessible room but none were available so we booked a mini-suite.  I didn't realize that these staterooms have a tub/shower combination rather than just a shower.  We have requested the shower stool and plan to bring a collapsible wheelchair, but we are still concerned about the tub and the cruise in general.  Has anyone been in a similar situation?  If so, any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

  4. In Colombo we docked at the Queen Elizabeth Pier. There are a few traders stalls alongside, and you can walk into the city centre in about 15 minutes. I loved Colombo, we did a private (i.e non ship excursion) walking tour which was very interesting.

In Port Klang we used the Star Cruises Terminal and that apparently is the norm as long as there is no Star Cruise or ferry arriving / departing that day.

Hi, we are on the Quest in April and need information about visas for Sri Lanka. If you have any information, it would be greatly appreciated. Also. can you give me the na,e of the private walking tour operator?

    Thanks so much!!

  5. I agree with everything Vida has said. We did find that booking with a tour company eliminated any concerns. We were met at the airport in Brazil, taken for a tour of the Brazilian side and then deposited at our hotel in Argentina. The next morning we toured the Argentinian side then the boat ride and again back to our hotel. The third day picked up at the hotel and taken back to Brazil for our flight back to Rio and went home that night. A guide certainly enhanced our experience and we had the benefit of private tours.

The costs vary, only you can evaluate the value of each of the options.

    Enjoy

Could you tell me which hotel you stayed at, where you had the monkeys visit? Sounds intriguing!!

Thanks to everyone for your information.

  7. We just got back from our favorite place to cruise, the MED, and I want to commend PK Travel, Potula and Paul, once again for their fabulous service. We have used them over and over again over the last ten years, doing many different itineraries in the Athens area, and their service and attention to detail is always superb. From simple transportation to and from Athens down to full-blown day tours to Athens, Corinth, Mycenae, Nemea, Nafplion, Cape Sounion, etc. - everything has always gone perfectly. They are also the voice of authority for any questions you might have about upcoming events on the day you are in port, what might be closed, special pricing for museums, etc. I can't recommend PK Travel highly enough.

  8. Suntan- I enjoyed your review mainly because your itinerary is similar to the cruise we are taking on the Equinox next May 2015. We also have a stop in Naples and the Amalfi coast. Did you get to go to Pompeii and can you tell me the name of the private tour company you used there? Thanks for sharing.;)

I also "work to cruise" - seriously!! We have a great tour operator - if you e-mail me I can tell you more.
