  1. Thank you for the responses so far, it’s making me feel a little more relaxed about sailing on an unknown to us line. we have sailed alaska before, took the fam last summer on the discovery princess and my husband and I have been 3 other times wit princess and ncl, we love Alaska.  We live within an hour to the sf port which is the big draw for us!

  2. Hello! My family is looking into cruising to Alaska this summer and the Carnival miracle 10 night out of SF is an option.  I have taken one 3 night carnival cruise about 10 years ago. Tell me the good bad and ugly? We are used to cruising mainly with Disney and Princess (and some NCL). We will have two adults, a 6 year old and a 18 month old toddler. My daughter has food allergies id love to hear if anyone has experience with dining with allergies on carnival! Tell me about the ship, activities, food, kids options, and anything else I should know about cruising with carnival.  A little nervous to pull the trigger but also thinking it might be worth it. Thank you!!!

  3. Does anyone have experience booking excursions for your family with a baby? We are going to Alaska this summer and I was hoping to book some excursions through the Princess.  I saw on their website that for most excursions kids under 2 are free, however that is not the case for anything.  My daughter is 9 months old and every single excursion we’ve looked at they want to charge us the full kids price.  I’ve called princess and to be honest it doesnt seem like anyone knows and are just going off what the website is doing. Has anyone figured this out? Paying hundreds for my 9 month old to be carried around is just a hard pill to swallow. For reference we are looking at the gold panning and dog musher camp excursion. Third party companies she is free but of course they don’t have times that work with us. They wanted to charge us for the lumberjack show for her as well….went ahead and booked that on our own since direct she is free.

  4. We went on a tour with keith last June. It was AWESOME, and we didnt even see one bear, he said that was actually the first time that he hasnt seen one bear, we were out there for a long time. This was the best experience I have ever had on a cruise or any other vacation. It was a sight of the REAL Alaska. I highly recommend this tour, we didnt even see a bear and we all had a BLAST! I also used Keith to go whale watching right after our bear tour and that was by FAR the most amazing thing I have ever seen. His boat is gorgeous and the whales that we saw were bubble feeding, it was so nice and peaceful, we were the only boat out there. It was much better than our whale watching in Juneu, although that was fun, a few tail sightings just dont compare to the bubble feeding we saw. Obviously bubble feeding is rare to see and most wont have the same experience. I highly recommend anything having to do with Keith!

  5. on my last princess cruise i had a horrible lobster tail! There was something not right, totally wierd texture!!! i couldnt eat it at all! On top of that the waiter was actually kind of rude, when we asked for butter to go with our lobster tail, he claimed that it was already on top, and that he couldnt get us butter. This was a simple request that should have been honored. On that very same cruise we had another waiter who wasjust awesome and even did magiv tricks, I wish that we were able to have him every night instead of having to switch to quiet shy guy... we miss you ROLAND on the Golden princess. Too bad the lobster was poor, on my first princess cruise the lobster was great, and no one else in my party of 24 had any complaints... must have just been my luck!!!
