  1. My oldest started cruising at 7 months old. There is play time in the Kids Club most days - just ask for the schedule. You stay and play with them, so it’s not the traditional kids club until they turn 3 (and she already had 60 days at sea by then 🤣). They also have bags of toys that you can check out and bring to your room.

There are usually crew members on board who sign up for babysitting in your stateroom, if you are interested in that option. On a few of the cruises, we took our Au Pair with us, so we didn’t use the babysitting option as much, but had good experiences when we did.

If our stateroom did not have a bathtub, we used a small inflatable pool in the shower for bath time back then.

Our kids are 9 and 7 now and love Celebrity and the kids club. We’ve tried a couple of other lines, but Celebrity continues to be their favorite.

  2. My daughter is 15 months old and she has been on an 8-night cruise and an 18-night cruise. We have a 17-night cruise coming up in September. All on Celebrity. We love it and she has a blast meeting all of the new people.

Challenges are making sure we have enough diapers and formula, although she's not on formula anymore, so that will be nice not to worry about for the next one. We also take along a blow up pool for baths if we do not book a suite with a bathtub.

Once she turned 1, we did take advantage of the babysitting services on board. She really loved the sitters they sent. There will also be set times that you can go to the Fun Factory and play with the toys there.

  3. Very informative Q & A by the ship's Executive Committee... they showed a video of the rescue preparations, the actual rescue and the return to the ship. Captain Taramas then gave a general report on how the events unfolded and the preparations needed prior to arriving at Malden Island. An early estimate on the fuel cost due to the diversion of the ship is about $170,000 USD. At the end of the meeting, the two rescued sailors came out and thanked everyone.

In my opinion, the crew not only did a fantastic job in in planning and executing the rescue, but also did a great job in communicating with everyone on board as the events unfolded. Kudos to Celebrity!!!!

Thanks for updating! I missed the Q&A session today, but am hoping to catch the recording tonight.

Captain and crew really did an outstanding job.

  4. Captain just announced that a distress signal from a small vessel came in during the middle of the night and that we changed course to head south for a rescue. The vessel was about 160 nautical miles away at that time. He said we should arrive in about 25 minutes (9AM here).

We were scheduled to tender in Lahaina on Sunday morning after leaving Bora Bora on Monday night, but we'll see what changes are made. Please send good thoughts for a safe rescue.

  5. Just back from a TA that started in Barcelona. We (my dad and I) didn't use Barcelona Day Tours for a city tour in Barcelona, but we did use them for a day of wine tasting in the Penedes wine region. It was absolutely fantastic and one of the highlights of our trip. They had everything arranged at each winery, including private tours and tastings. In the morning, the driver picked us up at our hotel and loaded our luggage in the car. After the day of wine tasting, he dropped us off right in front of the passenger terminal at the port.

We'll definitely use them again when we go back to Barcelona.
