I hope that's helpful. GF says she's going to upload pictures tonight so hopefully I should have the full review with scans and pictures by the end of the weekend.

  2. on the sea day and the embarkation day. I have a 14 year old that won't sit by the pool for more than 10 mins at a time so I'm looking for basketball and ping pong and the like. Also, what they have for teens after dinner. He's got a 17 yr old sister and they will certainly want to do their own thing after dinner rather than hanging w/ the old folks. Thanks!

We saved them from our cruise (3/7). Currently in the process of scanning them. We'll have a major post with pictures in the next week or so, but in the meanwhile if there's any specific questions let me know and I can look it up.
  3. We did the around the island van tour in Bermuda and my kids hated it. For our cruise in April the only thing they demanded was no long day in a vehicle. St. Maarten can be eye-opening for a teen (and a parent!) at a lot of the beaches but it's not that big of a deal for them to see how the rest of the world is. Take them to a beach or on one of the boat tours instead.

Just wondering if anyone took their teens with them on a Bernards tour and what they thought of it?

My husband and I did Bernards a few years back and we loved it. I'm just thinking my 2 teen boys may be a little bored on and off the van all day.

    Thoughts?

  4. Thanks for info, CGeorge and CAJJ. Congrats also, CAJJ!

I did hear back on the cost of the cab ride as well $25 for two of us one way. I think we are going to do it. Our cruise isn't until January 2016 but I like to plan ahead :)
  5. I did receive a prompt response from the owners on my inquiry on the tour, unlike one of the previous posters. They mentioned taking a cab to their location for the tour. Anyone know how much that would be? Thanks!

e-mail at all but did respond quickly to a 2nd one.

  6. The Antigua Buggy Tour was one of the highlights of out trip!!! It was amazing! Rugged, countryside thrill ride experience!!!! Only 8 ppl 4 buggies and the owner Wayne on his quad leading the way!!! DO IT!

I know we have to catch a cab there, where and how much? How about what time you got back to the ship?

Sorry to pester you but I'm very excited about this one.

  7. There was only 1 area that was "off road" and I think that was the path to the beach itself. You stop for a few picture stops. Nothing like the Coz ATV tour we took that was on mud trails and through forest/jungle. There is a long stop at Orient Beach and then back to the port. The ATVs we had both had an issue with the exhaust systems being very hot making it extremely uncomfortable around your feet.

QUOTE=Santo23;45577081]My family is considering the ShoreTrips ATV excursion but trying to weigh the cost vs value. We really like the idea of seeing the area via ATV but some reviews have us reconsidering ... for example, read online that most of the excursion is driving on main roadways with majority of the time spent stopped at Orient beach. Anyone take this excursion (through ShoreTrips) that can give me some advice or recommend another ATV excursion vendor?

  8. My kids will want to do something post-dinner and my son (14) in particular has already loudly declared that he "hates shows."(prior cruise song and dance numbers not his thing) He's not much for sitting still anyway. My daughter (17) will also be looking for something fun to do. Any ideas of what X-Club has going on or the rest of the ship?

    Thanks!

  9. instead of going straight back to the ship? Maybe asking the driver to take us somewhere else near there, if there is anything.

So, odds are you'll be back to ship around 12:30/1. If it's Rainforest Adventures, that's about 40 minutes from the pier, so be sure to account for travel time....

If you're back to the dock around 12:30, 1, that doesn't leave much time for going elsewhere. You could take a walk over to the craft and food market across from the pier, lots of local made crafts (and the Chinese made tchochkies), amazing spice marke, local produce market and meat market all in one, with several local food stalls to sample some local food. And then perhaps a walk over to Derek Walcott Square in town, and to see the cathedral... Or take a walk over to Vigie Beach for a swim....

    Enjoy your visit.

  10. last time I was in St. Thomas we were downtown and caught a cab back to the ship w/ what should've been plenty of time to spare. Traffic was so bad that we got out of the cab that had been standing still for a long, long time and ran to the ship and barely made it. Traffic in St Thomas is awful, especially later in the day. Use the ship's tour here (and only here).
