    Here we go......

I figured this may have been something asked before. I did look but didn't see anything

I do tip. That is not the reason I was asking. I usually tip above and beyond the pretip. Everything I have read this week..including a lot of statements from ship crew... points to them not actually receiving the monies from the pre tipping. If I just hand a waiter a 20 dollar bill..is that better? I will still do it anyways I'm just not sure about the pre tipping anymore.

jsglow that sounds like a very nice experience for them 🙂

  2. I hope this isn't one of those questions that has been beat to death..

I have read a lot this past week on how the prepaid gratuties don't necessarily go to the staff. I have always paid them and did so on my current booking. I was thinking this time I would just tip as the week went on.  I have fully paid for my trip in September but I can take the tips off and it then shows an overage of what I paid. If I leave it that way will that then be an on-board credit? If you tip without using the prepaid do you do tip throughout the week? On the last day? and does carnival add that to your folio everyday? It would be easier to just leave them on but I really want to make sure the people are getting their gratuities.

  3. We love to snorkel and tried discovery scuba in Cozumel two years ago and loved it! You see so much more than snorkeling. We used Alex Scuba. Highly recommended! We are using him again next month for another discovery scuba dive, as getting certified doesn't make much sense if we only go once every few years.

We chose alex scuba because his discovery scuba included two boat dives. Many others included only one dive, or only did shore dives.

I would be surprised if the best divemasters could be booked the day of at the pier. Usually scuba trips are early in the day, and most people don't scuba on a whim. Alex didn't pick us up at the pier, but rather from a hotel right next to the pier. I'm image that you could book a snorkel tour the day of, but I have no personal experience with that.

Thank you. I will look up Alex Scuba :)

  4. We have snorkled a lot and love it. We were going to maybe try a discovery dive in Cozumel but I have read that it may be better to just snorkle. Any thoughts?

Also I was not going to prebook so would options to do either be available from the port? Any recommendations? I have been looking at Eagle Ray or Scuba Steve but am open to any suggestions. Thanks :)

  5. That's a lot of cash! If I had an extra 100 dollars on my upcoming cruise I would order 15 pizzas to my room and tell them there is a 20 in it for whoever brings them but only if I can get some lobster tails on them. I would enjoy my lobster pizzas loudly on my balcony..in the nude...smoke a pack of cigs while drinking smuggled booze straight from the rum runner flasks and then stumble to the casino and put the last 5 on black. Good times!

  6. Last March my daughter and I walked all over the place. We went through neighborhoods and walked so far that we ended up taking local transit back. Everyone we met were awesome. Some nice folks in Nassau. I think they were a little surprised to see us wandering through their neighborhood. Great food and if you get away from the port area...super nice. We did have one happy old guy try to sell us some weed but he didn't bother us about it when I said no thanks

  7. I think it also comes with gear and bait. Not sure, but we were on deck 5 aft when someone in the suite above us hooked this. I think they were up on deck 9. Made a hell of a commotion on our balcony when they were trying to haul him in. The good news is that we were able to use the sword in Moderno later that night. Mmmmmm...fried pineapple and Marlin

    :p

I called and she said that they do not have a fishin suite nor provided the gear. I'm just going to take some heavy pound string and then dissasemble one of the balcony chairs to fashion a pole out of. I'll probably go down to the buffet and just fill my pockets with whatever I think fish may bite. Wonder if sharks like Indian food? I think they'll eat anything

  8. make sure you get an aft balcony for fishing. Trolling, especially in Alaska, is awesome.

This is an excellent idea. Thank you. I am going to call NCL and pester them for an hour or as long as it takes for them to upgrade me to a deluxe aft fishin suite

  9. With all the uncertainty lately about lobster night and not being able to find a clear answer, I thought I may try shoving a few into my carry on. Anyone know how long a live lobster will last in a suitcase? If they do die in transit, how long until they spoil? If they do have some sort of fee for this I will be happy to pay it. If not I'm just going to wrap them in my boxers along with some ice and pray they make it. The only other thing I am unsure of is how to cook them. Will they let me bring them into the dining room (will be on the epic) and throw them into some hot water for me? My cruise will just not be a cruise without lobster.

Also.. anyone ever managed to get a fishing pole on board? We were lucky enough with the price drops to upgrade to a balcony for the first time! I sure hate to waste all that great fishing time. If I do manage to catch something the above question about the dining room would come into play here as well. Thanks for reading and any reply's :)
