Thanks for posting. We are doing the same itinerary May 25th and were hoping to hear about Punta Cana. What a bummer you couldn't tender, but I assume you enjoyed another "sea day" instead! We are looking forward to getting back on the Equinox soon!

We are looking for answers to this as well. We have searched high and low. The Equinox has a stop there this past cruise, so hopefully some people that were on that will reply when they disembark tomorrow!

We loved the Lawn Club as well. We just got off the Reflection 10 days ago and went there twice during our 12 night cruise! Loved the kebabs, filet, ribeye and flat bread pizzas. We also went to Murano and Tuscan Grill. agree about the chateaubriand! so good. I wasn't as thrilled with Tuscan this time but last time we went everything was delicious!

Hope you don't mind me asking another question, but did you have VAT tax for on board purchases? Trying to decide if I want to upgrade my drink package before the cruise or once on board. If there is a VAT tax, it might be better for me to do so before boarding! Thanks

Can you wait until the 2d or 3d day to upgrade, and will they charge only for the days remaining?

We did that on our June 4 Equinox cruise. We waited until the sea day (3rd day of our trip) as we didn't think we would get use out of it before then. We easily upgraded 2 of us and it was worth it!

Great concise review! We leave in about a month and although I have cruised many times, I am still looking forward to this one just as much!!!! First time without our kids (empty nest syndrome-our youngest leaves for college soon). We have the drink package as well, so will be sure to have some singles handy for tips.

Loved your review. I too am getting a bit leery of the negative reviews as our cruise is just around the corner (JULY). We have sailed RCCL many times and I truly believe that as long as your on vacation the rest is minor stuff. Hopefully that minor stuff is kept to a minimum and we can enjoy our cruise as much as you did!

Michael, your review is great! Can't wait to board FOS in July for the same itinerary. We have done the eastern route many times, but looking forward to celebrating our 25th anniversary (and empty nest) on board with our friends who will be celebrating their 20th! Love to read your take on things and love that even with some bumps in the road you aren't being a debbie downer on your trip. It is easy to look at the negative, but glad you stayed positive!

Stef, I can't agree with you more, that pizza was unbelievably good. We had it every night around midnight not to mention almost daily when we returned from our tours! Never tasted anything better on any other ship. We loved the croissants in the morning too. Fresh out of the oven, OMG just delicious!

Great review! We just got off the Magnifica doing a slightly different itinerary. Got back on Sept 10th. I was very skeptical as an American passenger with so few reviews. Plus the reviews weren't very favorable. We went into the trip with low expectations and I have to honestly say that MSC far exceeded any expectations we had. Would I like to change things? Sure, but then I do on most cruises I have taken :). The food was far better than I anticipated and the itinerary was what sold us on this trip. Would I do another MSC? IF the itinerary was right, absolutely. Can't wait to read the rest of your review!

We would love too. Our problem is that we are on the MSC Magnifica and will arrive in Le Havre on 9/8/14.Is anyone arranging a tour for that date?

We are on the same week. We leave Amsterdam on 9/1. We have not arranged any tours yet. Thinking of doing Honfleur and Rouen though in Le Havre. MSC doesn't seem to be have very active roll calls for Europe. I started one, but haven't had much traffic! When we did Celebrity last year, we organized huge tour groups and had to have several buses for all the people that wanted to join!

My kids are closer to the 50 pound mark. I'd have to strap some weights on them to get them up to 75 pounds.

They will weigh them too. My godson was 71 pounds and they weighed him and turned him away much to his disappointment. We fully understood and wanted his safety to be primary concern, but he was definitely bummed about that!

Awesome pictures. We leave 2 weeks from Saturday and can't wait. While we have been on many RCCL, none of this class. We have certainly done our homework but I am sure we will learn as we go too! Keep the pictures coming!

Sweet curves, I have to say I am loving reading your review. It gets me very excited for ours in December. It will be my DD's 18th bday and a chance for the 4 of us to be a family (since she is a freshman at FSU). I can't wait to hear your review of Phil. I am waiting to book until I hear :). My DH and I have done the falls twice already but we know the "kids" will love it!
