  1. I just got off the 4 night and would not recommend this cruise. I cruise about 4 times a year and have never been on a ship that offered so little in the way of activities (other than things that made them money like shopping events or bingo). The cruise director is funny and very lively but the cruise itself was very lackluster. Catalina was fine but Ensenada is dirty with not much to do unless you like to shop for junk. We stopped at a restaurant called Queens (suggested by someone down the street). They offered a margarita that could be ordered with a double shot; it tasted like it was all mixer. The waiter offered to "fix" it and when we went inside we caught him repeatedly dipping a straw into the glass to taste it. The chips were disgusting and dripping with grease, to the point that we told them we were leaving and didn't want the drink or the chips. They chased us down and threatened to call the police if we didn't pay for the everything. It was a terrible experience that made us vow we would never go back to the area.

  2. We booked a last minute 5 day cruise on Brilliance just to get away. We were given only 2 choices for dining, either 8:00 or "My Time Dining." 8:00 is way too late for us so we chose the "My Time Dining" We had "My Time Dining" on the Oasis and it was awful. We could never get a decent time or an answer to our questions. We are going to a specialty restaurant 2 of the days, but we want to request a 6:00 seating for the other 3.. Any ideas of what to do? Booking agent said they were the only options that came up. I don't see any "help" type desk on the deck plans. If we don't have an earlier seating, we will never cruise Royal Caribbean again. We've never had this issue on other lines. Thanks!

I've been able to make reservations online (pre-boarding) under the restaurant section. I don't know if there's a cut-off date the closer you get to the cruise.

  3. We took the ferry from the dockyard over to St Georges ($4.50 pp). There was a lady on the 1st ferry of the day that offered a walking tour for $10pp. We took her up on it and really enjoyed the tour. She was very knowledgeable about the area and gave us some interesting insight into living there, as well as information on historical sights in the area. We felt it was a bargain for what she offered. We took the bus to Hamilton and felt that area mainly offered expensive shopping. From Hamilton we took the ferry back to the dockyard. I don't think the bus was a whole lot cheaper then the ferry and it took a lot longer due to the many stops. Taking the bus does give you the chance to see some of the areas where the locals live.

  4. We did a tour with Hidden Gems of Bermuda. They pick up/drop off at the port, feed you lunch and ice cream, take you to tour a cave, swim in a cave lake, jump off a "cliff" (which was just a high rock overhang), and snorkel on a beach. It was a very enjoyable day and they were very careful about safety. We can highly recommend them!

  5. We are flying into Newark and leaving from Cape Liberty. Does Celebrity, or any other provider, offer luggage transfers without us having to go to the port? All aboard is 3:00 and we get in early morning. We want to go see some sights without having our luggage to haul around.

    Any help would be appreciated!

  6. We were in Mahahual Dec 6th and really enjoyed our stay at The Krazy Lobster. The chairs were free along with wifi access. The drinks were reasonably priced and the food was very good. There are plenty of shade or sun options available. The beach has a reef further out that breaks the waves so the water is absolutely gorgeous. We will go back if ever in Mahahual again!

  7. I just spoke to Sadie in Crown and Anchor (I am Diamond) and was told I'd have to wait for David to call me back. She didn't know when that might happen. On a positive note: she was by far the nicest person I've talked to during this whole fiasco.

At this point I'll just dispute the charge on my credit card bill. I don't need any more stress from Royal Caribbean. I sure hope the cruise itself is not a continuation of what I've experienced so far.

  8. I am booked on the Independence of the Seas for early December. I booked this cruise some time ago and everything was fine until after final payment. I booked the offered discounted beverage package and several days later received an email saying it had been cancelled because my reservation was cancelled. I called and they said it was an odd blip in the software that rarely happened and wouldn't happen again. I re-booked the beverage package. Several days later I received another email saying it had been cancelled due to the reservation being cancelled. I called and Royal decided to issue a new reservation number to avoid further issues. I re-booked the beverage package (now at full price because the sale was over and I was told they could not discount the new package beyond the date). I was offered a $50 pp onboard credit to make up the difference. I thought everything was resolved until I got my credit card bill and see all 3 beverage package charges. I am on my 3rd call to a supervisor level person and still don't have this issue resolved. The 1st supervisor, Mark, did not do what he said and escalate the call, so no call back. After 3 days I called again. The 2nd supervisor, David, told me to call back 5 days later after he had time to get the information...he was not there on the day I was told to call and the new person, Kyler, said David would have to help me. David has not called back. Any help on who to call next?

  9. We were in Antigua several years ago and picked up a taxi a few blocks into the town. The taxi driver quoted us a reasonable fare to tour the island and we agreed. The first "surprise" was that another group with a small child had been waiting for him to fill the van and were included in our day (the child ended up being well behaved). The 2nd and worst surprise was when we got a flat tire and he didn't have a spare. While we stood in the heat he walked to a tire store and came back with a tire that was almost bald. My husband was concerned we would have a blow out as we went up and down the hills.

I don't know if our mistake was waiting to get into town to get a taxi or not... it was not a pleasant experience.

  10. We just returned from a cruise and used Jiffy Jeff for transportation from FLL to the Port of Miami, they were great. There was a text waiting for me when I got off the plane. When I called they instructed me where to meet them, and waited outside the van so I could find them. Comfortable Mercedes van, great commentary while driving, affordable. I would use them again!

  11. My adult daughter and I did this bar hop and had a great time. The prices are the same as if you were drinking elsewhere on the island. We started the tour with a bunch of compete strangers and a quiet bus. By the end, we were all friends laughing and talking, had a great time!

  12. My adult daughter and I have been to Key West numerous times. The ship seems to dock very early and leave early. We have walked the shopping areas, rented bikes, had a few drinks in a local bar. Locals, what else is fun to do that can be done in the port time we have?
