I know of a few hotels, but have never stayed in any of them.
There's a Holiday Inn Express in Century City on Olympic Blvd. It is probably about 1/3 to 1/2 a mile to the Westfield Century City, an open air mall with a movie theater.
There's a boutique hotel in Beverly Hills called Maison 140, it's a converted apartment building next to a residential area. But it is within decent walking distance of some shopping. I was curious and checked the rates, they're not bad, given the area.
There are 2 hotels in Culver City within walking distance of Howard Hughes Center, and the Westfield Fox Hills (though you have to walk under the freeway.) They are a Radisson and a Four Points. The Four Points is on the same side of the freeway as the Westfield and the Radisson is on the same side as Howard Hughes Center.
I have not read reviews on any of these hotels, so these are not endorsements, just what I know of that may have good rates.
