Is it just me or does anyone else think it's unfair that loyalty discount (we're currently up to 8%) is not applied to on-board purchases until OBC has been used up?
I've not noticed this on previous cruises (so perhaps it's a new thing) but our latest Statement only gave our 8% after the £140 OBC was used up.

We've never had an issue on any line we've been on (P&O, RCI, Celeb, NCL, Costa). Yes, we've put a carry-on case with the rest of or luggage at embarkation but we've also brought coke cans & bottled water from local stores at some stop offs when we were running low. On one RCI (might have been Navigator but could be wrong) we & others had no problem bringing soda or water back aboard but I did see one guy having a couple of 'clinking' carrier bags of spirits taken off him - he was told he could have it back at the end of the cruise.

We are not allowed to discuss or name travel agencies on Cruise Critic. Expect this post to get yanked.
oops sorry - I'll edit it to take the names out - hope that will suffice. The gist of the question might still get across so anyone else who's received such a call might answer.

I haven't posted for some time, ahem :o and perhaps went to the wrong forum earlier.
I asked if anyone had had a cold call offering a promotion- I'm really not sure if it was too good to be true so thought I'd ask if anyone else had heard of it
I was basically offered a 2 week cruise + a 7 day land based holiday + 7 hotel vouchers for a £2199. Any of the items could be used at anytime within the next 3 or 5 years.
Anyone else had such a call - mine was approx. 5pm yesterday.
OBC v Loyalty Discount

TBH it was more cruisers like you with such large OBC that I was thinking about. However, I guess you could at least have many excursions/spa treatments or know that your final statement would be zero or low :)
