  1. Last Saturday we called and then wrote an email to cancel our July Viking Ocean cruise.  I was told twice, on Saturday and yesterday that we would be charged $200 which would be refunded, and the rest would be refunded to our credit card.  I hope they will be honoring their offer.  It actually worked out very well for us since I have developed foot problems.  Has anyone else heard about the refund?

  2. We were in 17033, and the noise from the pool deck was terrible.  We like to read on our balcony, but the constant loud music made that impossible.  Almost all of the night time parties were held there also, most until almost midnight.  We complained to guest services, the concierge, our butler, and the cruise director, but very little was done.  The service was first rate, and we loved the cabin, but the loud music spoiled our transatlantic.  It wasn't a total loss, however.  When we got home we wrote to Norwegian and as a result got a very nice credit for a future cruise.

  3. So we booked the later flight. Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately our "big" airport is Norfolk and it's difficult to good flights. I did try Fort Lauderdale but no luck there either. I decided to book early because there will be seven cruise ships in port on the day we cruise and I didn't want to take a chance.

  4. WE had an unhappy situation on our first RC cruise, but they knew how to make it right. Our daughter is in a wheelchair so we requested wheelchair assessable transportation from the airport to the ship. We waited and waited and finally after an hour and a half in the heat we finally got to the ship. Of course we got an apology from guest services and thought that was it. However, We were very surprised on our trip home to be met at the airport by someone from R C who escorted us to the first class lounge. As it turned out, our flight was delayed by a snow storm so we enjoyed the lounge for 3 hours. We are now D+, and without that experience we might have shopped around for another line. Small thing, but it showed they care about their passengers.

  5. We're leaving on July 5th from NY. We've done another cruise to Bermuda but it was in May. For those of you who have done this cruise around this time, how was the weather on deck? Wondering what to pack.

  6. I think you're a little late to help the OP. They posted their question more than two years ago. ;)

But I suppose it could be useful information to someone else down the road.

That's why I wrote it. It was an excellent tour and I wanted to recommend him.

  7. We didn't do a whole island tour because of time constraints. Roddy took us on three hour tour from the Naval dockyard to Hamilton and back along the ocean. There were two couples and the cost was $150. It was well worth it. Roddy was knowledgeable, informative and articulate and he has a good sense of humor. We had been to Bermudan several times before but we learned so much about this beautiful island from Roddy. I highly recommend him! You can reach him at enjoyardyss@gmail.com or (411)344-7003 or (386)847-9106.

  8. We recently toured with Normandy44. Our guide, Magali, was wonderful. We had a group of eight and all learned so much from her. She had pictures and told us stories that made the history real. She is ranked #8 on Trip Advisor, but that is because she has only 38 reviews. She doesn't have anything about picking up at the port on her website, but she does pick up at Le Havre. I definitely recommend her!

  9. Celebrity changed the wine per glass limit to 9$ on Classic package. That is possibly the reason for the new pricing. 9$ + 15% gratuity is 10,35$ so they have adjusted prices a bit.

I don't know how they figured it out, but there is only one glass on the menu for less than $9.00, the Beringer White Zinfandel at $8.50. Everything else is $10 and up.

  10. I just returned from a cruise aboard Infinity out of Harwich. I did not have a beverage package and found the prices of wine and all alcohol to be outrageous. We spoke to people who had stayed on from the previous TA sailing and noticed the change in prices with our sailing. They asked and were told that the prices now included the gratuity since UK passengers would not approve of the additional gratuity. Apparently the new pricing was much higher than an additional 15% tip would be.

I don't think that I saw a glass for under $11 and it was a very cheap and not great wine. These were the wines used for the Elite drink vouchers we were given as well.

We just got back from Infinity also after a b2b TA and British Isles. The prices of wine skyrocketed on the British Isles cruise. Many wines went from $8.50 to $10.50. By my calculation that is much more than a 15% tip. We asked the food and beverage officer and were told "it was a decision from corporate." He said nothing about about gratuities. We didn't have a beverage package either, and we think they are trying to make up for so many people being given "free" beverage packages by charging the rest of us outrageous prices. Big mistake. Many of us, including me, either didn't buy alcohol, or cut back on the amount we would usually drink.

  11. We are inboard Infinity on a bob TA and British Isles cruise. We were very unhappy to find the Elite lounge closed for the whole second cruise (rented by art "VIPS" and wine and drink prices up by a lot. We do not have the package so if we want some wine we have to pay for it. When we inquired about the changes we were told it was business decisions by corporate. Well we've made a business decision also...not to sail on Celebrity anymore!

  12. We did a TA on Reflection last year in an Aqua Suite. We really enjoyed Blu. We are planning to do another TA this year on Infinity, but there is no Aqua Suite on the ship. We would like the Sky Suite for the extra room, but wonder if we'll be able to eat in Blu. Our one night experience in the MDR last year was not good. Will we have a problem eating in Blu?

  13. SHIP: Reflection

    CABIN #: 2111

    DECK #: 12

    CLASS: Aqua Suite

    AREA: forward

    BED NEAR: bathroom

QUIET?: In moderate seas the wall between the bathroom and the bed creaked, as did the bed. Very annoying!

BALCONY VIEW: somewhat obstructed by supports to the deck above us

    BALCONY SIZE: good

    WIND A PROBLEM?: no

    SOOT A PROBLEM?:no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Pretty cabin. Lots of storage space. Beds could be softer.
