Thank you Got 2Cruise and 138east. We have moved since my last post and will now being coming down I91. Some directions take us down closet to Tarrytown area and I just wondered if that was closer. I made reservations at the LaQuinta back in Jan. So I will keep those. Is it about the same distance to the terminal? Thank you again. You are a great help.

Has anyone stayed at hotels in the Tarrytown ny area. If we are traveling from NH would this be a possible area close to manhatten terminal? Thank you

Thanks everyone for your help. If we come down 95 will it would it be longer for us to go across to 287 and sawmill pkwy, than to go 95 into manhatten?

Nothing wrong with the Hilton, but you might also want to look at the Hampton Inn in Stamford which is showing at $199 with further discounts for AAA or joining Hilton Honors. Strategy would be to cut over to I95 at Milford CT Exit 38 and then return to the Hutchinson River Parkway at exit 21 immediately after exit 2 in CT. We've stayed in this hotel twice.

 

A more basic but acceptable hotel would be the LaQuinta in Stamford for $119 with further discounts for AAA. Right off I95 with the attached good Stamford Diner. We've stayed there in a comfortable Queen room and will be staying there again at the end of March.

What is the exact date you need a hotel? Number of people? Hotel budget? Once you decide where to stay, I can post the cars only directions to the port.

Hi everyone: we will be driving down to Manhatten Cruise Port in aug from NH. We are looking for a hotel outside of the port and the Hilton Westchester in a Rye Brook was suggested. I was wondering if that was a good choice? If anyone has directions that are better than gps I would appreciate them. ( both to the hotel and from hotel to pier) GPS always wants to keep us on 95. We would be open to any hotel suggestions also in that area. Thank you!

I did get an answer today from the cruiseport and they said garage will accommodate cruisers before 11am.

Question for 138 east or anyone that might have info: we are sailing on aug. 11 and wanted to prepay parking. It says lot doesn't open untill11 am. Does anyone know if this true as it seems late and our checking is 10am. Thanks in advance,

As we have had to reschedule our travel plans since our last post, I was hoping 138east or anyone could help me out. We will be driving from southern nh to cape liberty on June 15 and staying at the country inn and and suites at newark airport before driving to the port on the 16th. We would catch 495 in haverhill ma. I would also like directions to the port from the hotel if possible. I know gps would get me there but I know there are better routes. Thank you! (We will be traveling mid morning if that makes a difference)

Sailing in October and June (2016) both on thurs out of cape liberty. Thinking more about the drive down on wed if we find a hotel about an hr out. We are in southern nh about ten mins to catch 495 from 93. Could you suggest hotels that might be an hr out. Thanks so much!

Thank you so much Carol! We will use these directions. We were thinking we might leave around 4 a.m. ( better to sit at the port than the highway) what's your thoughts on that? Our other option is to drive Wed. And stay a little out. Could you recommend a hotel on our route no more than an hour away. Thanks so much for your info!

Hi. We are traveling from southern NH to cape Liberty and are thinking about driving straight thru leaving early in the am. Could someone please tell me if I95 to GWB or 84 to 684 to sawmill parkway would be the direct (easiest) route. We would be driving very early on a Thursday morning. Thanks in advance!

138 East: We are traveling from NH and would like to stay somewhat close to cape liberty pier and then drive in the next morning. Could you suggest an area as we aren't familiar. Holiday inn midtown 57th is running rooms for $152 for newly renovated rooms. Go on line. If you call they will quote you higher but tell them you saw it on line and they will adjust it. (AAA price) might be a little higher for best rate price. Older hotel but pretty close to pier. We just booked for Feb cruise.
