Galveston has a panama canal cruise in Oct 2018. We are very excited about this cruise.
However it is a 2 week cruise.

Have used clear packing tape and have now bought a roll of clear Contact Paper... works great!

We have had the same problem lately. In the past we submitted forms and got the price drops with no problem. Recently we had a price drop and submitted the form and it was denied. Sent it in again and again it was denied. Called our PVP and got the OBC. He said that we should just call him in the future and not bother filling out form. He said that's his job and he will be happy to take care of it in the future!

We did a b2b in January on the Triumph out of Galveston. They have you meet at Guest Services. They give you your new card and they escort you off the ship and through Customs and back on the ship. You can leave the the ship with your "guest in transit" paper, but we just went right back on. We were also in the same cabin, but yes we did have to exit the ship, go thru Customs, and come back on board.

Have sailed from Galveston over a dozen times and can say that they are very particular about bottles. They have inspected and shaken anything we have packed.

Yes, each adult can bring 1 bottle of wine 750ml.

Yes, they are definitely collecting it in Galveston now. It is a separate stop after you have cleared customs.

We did a back2back on Triumph in January. The Triumph has Guy's burgers and Blue Iguana. We really enjoyed the burgers and tacos from both places. The pizza was good for a quick snack. We always enjoy the deli a lot as well. They have made a lot of improvements, but there are still areas that need more attention. The carpet and drapes were new in our balcony cabin, but the sofa needed to be replaced and the TV was the old style, not the new flat screen. Think we will stick with the Magic next time, but we did enjoy our cruise!

We cruised on the Triumph in January. After you went through customs and were exiting the area, there was a lady asking if you bought liquor and lived in Texas. She was directing people over to the side where they had a couple of people set up to take the taxes. There were only a couple of people in line when we left. We had not bought any because we were not sure it would be worth the hassel, but when we left it was not a big line at all.

We sailed the Triumph in January and after having sailed on both of them twice, we would definitely pick the Magic in the future. They have done a lot of work on the Triumph and Guy's burgers are great, but there is a lot of room for improvement on the ship. We experienced a strong sewer odor several nights in our balcony cabin and our sofa was really worn out. Also the TV in our cabin was the old style, not the new flat screen. Looking forward to cruising on the Magic again!

We have been on Magic twice and Triumph three times (most recently in January). We would definitely say Magic!! Triumph still needs work and showing her age. Magic would be great for kids especially!

Just returned from Triumph... no fridge in balcony cabins. Our steward was great at keeping ice in our soft sided cooler.
The Triumph still needs some work. New carpet and drapes, but the sofa looks really bad and still had the old TV in our balcony cabin. Occasional periods of strong sewer smell in our Lido cabin also. We still had a great time, but some improvements still need to happen.

If you have long hair or thick hair, you would be better off bringing your own. They are not very powerful and you have to hold the button down the whole time you use it. OK for men's hair, but won't dry mine.

We were on the Halloween cruise on the Magic and had anytime dining. We had the best service we have ever had. Even the first night was great (and sometimes that first night is so slow). We never waited for a table and our waitress was wonderful (Ana)!! We asked for her every night!

It must just depend on the waiter. Just off the Magic Sunday and they offered to send a dessert "to go" one night when I said that I was too full. Then a few nights later I had back issues and didn't go to dinner with hubby and son. They placed my order for filet mignon when they ordered dessert and they sent it "to go". It was still warm when I got it. The waitstaff was so nice. They even asked about it the next night and asked if it was still warm when I got it. They were the best staff we've ever had in 13 cruises!

Just off the Magic yesterday and we got the caps. We did ask at guest services, but they said they were out of Tervis cups or anything but the caps. Hopefully something different on Triumph in January.

Has anyone stayed in a balcony cabin on the Spa Deck?? We were just wondering if there is much noise from Camp Carnival above.
Thanks!

We always request twin bed set up. 90%+ the room is setup a king. The stewards change it with no problem.
