1. As posted above, Blu is a perk of booking Aqua Class. For most it is THE reason to book AQ. It is what got us hooked to Aqua...

    Here´s the reason why:

Looks good to us.:) Thank you for posting this. Our first time dining in Blu

So, what did they tell you regarding your early morning check in? Are they to charge you for extra day, or, you have to check out at 5 am the following day or two days, whichever your number of days on the reservation. Can you please elaborate? Thank you

We will be checking in around 6.00am depending on how long it takes to clear customs and immigration and we will check out at 6.00 am a couple of days later as our onward flight requires us to be at the airport around 6.30am.So that works out well for us.Hope this helps.

  3. It really depends on your hotel. I have showed up at 9am for a checkin. You could check directly with the hotel.

I was in a mad panic thinking I had it wrong. After checking with our hotel we do have the 24 hr check in/check out, such a relief as we arrive 5.20 am.Panic over.

  4. Interesting question : if our flight arrives at 1 am local time, how would we handle hotel reservation? Technically it's a new day, but would they even check us in at 2 am and if so, would it be considered an extra night? How do we make our reservations for the hotel? Or, would we be able to store the luggage and walk around for a few hours since it will be day time for us, then check in at 5 or 6 am ? Any advise is appreciated.

We booked our flight and hotel through Emirates airline and we were advised that the hotels work on a 24 hr booking system ie if you check in at 6.00 am you check out before 6.00am the next day.I don't know if this is exclusive to Emirates, maybe pick out an hotel and e.mail them.Hope this helps:)

  5. Currently on board Solstice at Yorky's Knob (Cairns) tenders have had to stop as water a little too rough and they are bobbing up and down like corks. We are currently about 2 hours behind schedule but we are enjoying good food and company while we wait to go ashore. They have now started tendering process after repositioning ship.

Our cruise from Fremantle to our position now has been absolutely magic. The seas have been very calm and our crew are all awesome. Speciality Restaurants are fantastic. We are dining again tonight in Tuscan Grill. Tiramisu is to die for!!!!!!

Thanks for posting, good to know you are enjoying Solstice.Wishing you calm seas and great times for the rest of your cruise.will definitely have to book Tuscan as Tiramisu is myfavourite dessert.:)

Good for you, have an absolute brilliant time.:)

  7. I thought it was just us. We have been having the same problem for over a week,I'm surprised that there hasn't been more posts concerning this.Just as well that the web site isn't a reflection of the actual cruise.

  8. We did the night tour of Alcatraz ( a good tip is to dress warmly as it is quite cool at night) loved the experience but do book well in advance as the tours book quite quickly. The Napa Valley wine tour is absolutely fantastic . Fishermans wharf is a must especially the Clam Chowder at Boudins and the sea lions at pier 39.We loved San Fransisco , enjoy:)

  9. I heard a story about this yesterday but it didn't click that it was here in Australia. Some people need to be banned for life from cruising.:(

Love your idea of a lifetime ban , it should apply to all cruise lines when someone has proved that they can't behave responsibly on a cruise ship . Hey we all cruise to have a great time but not when it spoils it for other people.

  10. We only had the one cruise on Gemini and I remember the CD was the best we ever came across. All I recall was that his name was Colin , so you have filled in a gap for me. Many thanks.

We also sailed on her 3 times and loved it. Totally agree about Colin the cruise director. This post has brought back fond memories.:)

  11. Hi There

Have always had my gratuities added onto my Seapass daily, and paid at the end of my cruise, when booking through an Agency,

Have been checking out a Celebrity's own Aussie website, and they are adding the tips so that you pay up front ?

Is this correct ? Has anyone else had the same experience ?

Just want to ensure I am comparing quotes correctly, and don't want to get stung a second time on board.

    Cheers Matt

    Hi Matt,

we have sailed with Celebrity 3 times , first time booked with T.A. here in Perth , second time with Celebrity U.K.third, time with a T.A. in the U.K. and this time our fourth with Celebrity Australia . each time gratuities have been requested upfront. It's not a problem to us as we have always had excellent service but for those who don't think their service warrants it there is always the option of removing the tips.:eek:You wont get " stung" a second time. happy cruising:)

    Chris
