We just pre-paid $97 for parking over Thanksgiving weekend for 4 nights North lot. I don't mind paying a hundred bucks to park and not have to full with holiday airline travel. I've been looking at the Port of Galveston webcam and it seems like the North lot to the terminal is walkable so we don't need to bother with shuttles. Time will tell I reckon.

Hi Cynt, where is this lot? Can you send over the name (or is this part of the cruise lines lot)? We're new to parking so not sure where to go but we don't really want to shuttle and would rather be within walking distance. Thanks!

  2. I'm not sure there was ever an answer on that last post about what to do post cruise. We have an extra day and a half to spend and no rental car. There are four of us, two adults and two 12 yo boys. We disembark in Miami but our hotel is in Ft. Lauderdale. We leave in two weeks. We wouldn't even mind doing something from the port of Miami and having them take us to the airport and we could cab it to FLL from there. Or, we could get to FLL and do something there. We are staying at the Westin (got a good price). Any suggestions would be fantastic. Thanks!

  3. I posted a thread about this excursion though i did mine through Trip Advisor. We had plenty of time to do the bottom half of the falls as well as have time to do some shopping before needing to be back on the boat.

There were a bunch of groups going so they take people in waves but they are very good about keeping track of time so even if you don't book through Carnival don't worry about time. It was def worth it and I would do it again but check the weather and again wear shoes that can get wet with good soles. It is one heck of hike and lots and lots and lots rocks going up and coming down.

I did a video of the trip you can see here. The pictures were amazing if you have waterproof camera but the video gives a very good idea what to expect.

I loved the video but of how many waterfalls did you have to "jump" off a ledge. I did the waterfalls in Jamaica and for some reason am all of the sudden afraid of heights. It was totally embarrassing how I had to talk myself into jumping off the shortest ledge. I want to take my 12 year boys who loved our waterfall adventure but am worried that I won't be able to do it.

    Thanks for your help!

  4. Does anyone recommend a tour guide and have a website address for the BH? Now that's what we want to do in Ochos Rios!
