I sent an e mail to Royal's contact us department asking what the " approximate " starting and finishing times are for the Centrum acts on Serenade of the Seas. We are concerned about possible noise in a hump cabin . Not once but twice I was sent the response that times cannot be quoted as the show times are decided on each individual sailing. Can this be true?

We have had 7094 several times as well as 8088 above it.
There is absolutely no sound from the elevators.
Since the areal shows and more events were added there is now some noise from the music but as mentioned, they close the doors to the hallway and then you can not hear it.
I already have 7094 booked again for January.
Thanks for the info. Now a new question seeing as you have actually stayed in this cabin. Does the lifeboat canopy that I have been reading about in other posts obstruct the straight down view from this cabin?

What time does the evening aerial show in the Centrum end? Is this performance on every night?

Hello: Has anyone had cabin 7094 on the Serenade of the Seas? It has a huge balcony compared to other cabins in this category. It is located next to the elevators. Can you hear the elevator noise? Is there additional " people" noise being in this location? Any responses would be welcome .

Last week I was on the Sun. During the crew introductions I noticed that there were 2 full Captains mentioned. One was I think the deck Captain , and the other the traditional ship's Captain. I have never seen two Captains on one ship. They both had the Captain's stripes on their dress uniforms. Has anyone else noticed this, or is it new?

We just got home Monday from our 11 day cruise and we will NEVER go on this ship again. Its OLD and needs alot of updating and repairs.
The shower was like standing in a 2 foot round tube that you could not move around in, I would hate to know how a larger person would be able to use them. The room was alot smaller than ones we have had on the Dawn and Pride of America.
It doesnt have nearly enough room on the pool deck for the amount of people who want to be there on the 5 sea days, chair saving started as early as 6:00 each morning and were gone by 7:30. The BBQ that was done on sea days made for even less room by the pool because it did use up almost 1/3 of one side....
The buffet was poorly set up and made for crowds clogged up and the flow never went smooth.
We have gone on a 10 day on the Dawn and it was just perfect, if this were my first time with NCL I dont think we would crusie with them again.
The crew was a training crew so there was alot of things we noticed that were not up too par. They were all very friendly but just not as on the ball as other crews.
We were told the Pearl will be doing this cruise next year.
We were on the same cruise and I could not disagree more with you. The Sun is a lovely ship with a great crew. I would take her anytime over the Dawn. And I am a large person who had no trouble whatsoever with the shower. We found all the crew to be friendly and willing to help . Even the captain asked me if there was anything that could be done to make my cruise easier ( I have bad knees) on his daily walk up on the pool deck. Yes there were chair hogs ( they are on all ships ), but even on sea days we never had any difficulty locating loungers. Different folks have different opinions I guess. We have sailed many times with several cruise lines. In my opinion the Sun is one of the few remaining real cruise ships, instead of floating amusement parks.

Wish I could say the upgrade fairy had visited me for our February 13th Sun sailing.... Boo Hoo

Just booked my first sailing with NCL for Feburary of 2015. Was looking on their website for information about excursions. To my surprise, three of my ports do not have any excursions available to book through them. Those ports are St. John, Antigua; Fort-de-France, Martinique and Basseterre, St. Kitts.
Is there something seriously wrong with their website right now or do they really not offer any shore excursions in those ports?
Hi.. The excursions for your cruise will not appear for a while.

Hey Travel12,
We are on the other side of Toronto, small town called Newtonville. Just east of highway 115.
Are you going to the meet and greet?
Probably not. My husband is not into those group things. Oh well! We are travelling to Miami the day before on WestJet. How are you getting there?
-
Great review, I am with you, I also like the small ships and the Sun is my favourite. We will be boarding on Feb 13 and can't wait.
Bluejai
We will be on that departure also. And we are from Burlington Ontario. Where are you located?

Are there any lounge chairs on the Sun Promenade deck? Love to go and read on this deck. Especially this time when I do not have a balcony cabin.
-
Congratulations! I have been hoping the upgrade fairy would pay a visit to us and upgrade us on the February 14 sailing of the Sun from an outside cabin to a balcony... Still time to hope!

Thanks to all for your replies. The Great Outdoors will not be a problem. Hopefully Il Adagio will be ok as well since we already have reservations there.

I just noticed that there are stairs leading from the buffet area on the Sun to the Great Outdoors Café. I find stairs difficult to navigate. How many stairs would there be? Is there any other way to access the Great Outdoors Café?

Yahoo! We were able to book our dinner reservation for Valentine's Day on the Sun this morning. Now the site is showing nothing available. Lucky we made it in time for the pre booking. Now all I can wish for is the upgrade fairy to gift us a balcony cabin . Wouldn't that be wonderful!

Hi Nita: Thanks for the first impressions. Exactly what did you not like about Le Bistro? That is our first choice for our February cruise.
-
Yes it is operating. My friend e mailed me from Aruba on December 12th and he had just taken a ride on it.
-
Looks like it! Thanks for posting . Let's hope the wrinkles have been ironed out.

Hi: Yes there is a trolley in Aruba now. It started at the beginning of 2013. I watched a video of it in the internet. A friend who is currently on a Princess Cruise sent me and e mail from Aruba saying that he had taken a ride on it. Must be a well kept secret I am thinking!
-
Has anyone taken a ride on the new trolley in Aruba? Is it free? Does it start right at the cruise ship pier? How long is the ride and where does it go?

Have you been on a cruise with Valentine's Day as one of the days? Does NCL do anything special onboard for this occasion? If we want to dine at a specialty restaurant on Valentine's Day is it wise to book ahead?

Two days ago I priced an E1 category cabin for February 2016 on the Serenade. Just priced the same cabin at the Wow Sale price. It was 100 more than earlier this week . This is a sale?
