  1. Yes, I have pictures of 2 Sky Suites, on the Constellation BEFORE she was re-outfitted, and a couple on the Infinity, also before re-outfitting. I will email them to you at the addy given.

The carpeting will be a different color now, it's a light brown with large swirls in it on some ships, and they've modernized these suites alot! We've cruised on the Summit to Bermuda twice now since she was re-outfitted, but in her Celebrity Suite, and the carpet there was changed from nautical blue to a plain, solid light brown. Make sure you check your AOL "Spam" folder for my email... :D

  2. Suite guarantees are often cheaper than even a sky suite.

Just as you can book a Celebrity suite, sky suite, and royal suite, at certain prices you can book a guaranteed suite at a set price. Like booking an airline ticket without a seat. Your guaranteed a seat on the plane or a cabin on the ship. In the case of a cruise it guarantees you a minimum level of cabin. You can always get higher but be happy with the lowest level in the guaranteed class you booked.

    It's often a great deal.

    Happy sailing,

    Jenna

Sure sounds like it! Thanks for expounding!

  3. A suite guarantee rate is set at ONE PRICE -- and that price is for the lowest suite category, which is a sky suite rate.

There is no Celebrity Suite guarantee rate.

There is no Royal Suite guarantee rate.

You pay for a sky suite, and most likely will wind up with this category.

You MAY luck out with something higher, such as a Celebrity Suite, Royal, or the highest category suite Penthouse..... You roll the dice and settle for whatever is assigned to you by the cruise line. Understand?

The whole concept is really not that difficult.

Now I've got it...didn't catch before that you pay for the lowest price suite, as no one actually stated that, to the best of my knowledge!

    Thanx all,

    Kity :D

  4. That's good news, but let me get this straight...if we pay in advance for say, (hopefully), a Celebrity Suite, and they can't give us one, but give us a Sky Suite instead, do we still pay the Celebrity Suite price, if they downgrade us to Sky Suite?

  5. Very unlikely! [There is no "Owner's Suite" on Celebrity.:D]

I presume the equivalent of the "Owner's Suite" on Millennium class ships would be the Penthouse and Royal suites, which are much more expensive than the Celebrity Suite, which is preferred by us, and just the right size for we two! :)

  6. Guarantee's are usually cheaper it's the rate you pay. It's usually closer to sailing. If they have a lot of one category they will sell guarantee's to fill them up. If the suite guarantee price is say $4,000.00 that's what you will pay. Up to day of sailing your cabin is assigned. Even if you get the penthouse, you already paid your $4,000.00 and you're done. You just have to be prepared mentally and happy with whatever level of suite you might get assigned.

    Does that help??

I think so. You're saying that there's a fixed price level for the "suite guarantee", so you can't get stuck paying say, $10 grand for the "Owner's suite", when the dollar level of "suite guarantee" you're paying is $4 grand. I would definitely want to check this price level before committing to it! Am I correct?

    Kity ;)

  7. If you purchase a suite guarantee you will definitely get a suite. You can get any level of suite located on any deck of the ship. You don't choose at all. That's why Jenna said you need to be sure you would be happy with any Suite cabin throughout the ship. Works the same for veranda guarantee, ocean view guarantee, etc. You are guaranteed the type if cabin you purchase but cannot pick your actual cabin.

So then, one must be prepared to pay for the most expensive suite on the ship, even though one may just be shooting for a Celebrity Suite or Penthouse Suite. Isn't that taking quite a chance, if one has no use for anything quite that big, or for, say, the piano, (lol), or can you still opt out, if they offer you say, the "Owner's Suite"? We are a married couple who love the Celebrity Suites on the Millennium Class ships and the Penthouse Suites on the Solstice Class ships...

  8. Thanks for your prompt response, but I'm still confused, Jenna...do you mean that a "Suite Guarantee" doesn't guarantee you a suite, but that they can put you in any catagory stateroom, should a suite not be available, i.e. your use of the word cabin throughout...(?)

  9. You were lucky to get a celebrity suite on a suite guarantee. Enjoy!

What is a "Suite Guarantee"? Never heard of that. Heard of a stateroom guarantee, though...

Also, is this "Suite Guarantee" available on all Celebrity ships, i.e., Millennium Class and the Solstice Classes?

    Thanx,

  10. Here's one for you, Stu...I too called a "supervisor" at Celebrity and asked her for a comparison of the dimensions of Suite #6145 and Suite #6131 and the answer I got was the stock size listed in the brochure for all of the Sky Suites! For whatever reasons, it sounds to me like Celebrity's personnel have been told not to divulge any stateroom size differences to the public! However, all's fair in love and cruising... ;)

  11. In our experience, there's no deviation from the customary furnishings in the staterooms and suites on these ships unless the ship is completely reoutfitted. If this were to happen, of course, any previous photos would be inaccurate. I'm hoping that someone who has cruised in this suite recently, may have taken photos of the suite so I can see what we're booking! There aren't any photos of the inside of the suite on the link to which you sent me, only the balcony from what I can see, but this is very helpful too, and I thank you again! :-)

  12. Thanx muchly, Bananavan, I appreciate your efforts on my behalf...but I'm looking for actual photos of Suite 6131 on the CONNIE, so I can see how it's ACTUALLY furnished and the configuration of the suite and balcony.

If anyone happens to have "personal" photos of this suite scanned online anywhere from a previous cruise, or knows where to locate same, I'd be very grateful for a link!

    Sincerely,

    B.J.

  13. Does anyone have decent photos from a previous cruise of Sky Suite 6131 on the Connie? I'd also appreciate knowing the exact dimensions of the suite and balcony if anyone has them, i.e., how much larger than a regular Sky Suite it is, and its balcony is? My travel agent says that Celebrity will have to E-mail the ship in order to get these dimensions, which may take awhile...

We're in the process of negotiating for this suite for our forthcoming cruise.

    Many thanx,

    B.J. :)
