  1. We will be traveling with our 5 year oldn and this will be his first cruise. Any advice on what to use if he would get seasick? Thanks in advance.

my sister is a sailor and she always says "keep high and dry" meaning, keep food in your stomach (not at all hard on a cruise) and don't drink too much liquid. obviously you need to stay hydrated, but if he's the kind of kid who likes to chug his milk or juice before eating much solid food, try to make sure there is plenty in there to absorb the liquid.

    good luck!

  2. I've only gone on 5, but I get excited every time. I enjoy counting down the days, planning everything, and I even play a "game" with whoever will be cruising with me called "If you could order from room service right now, what would you get?"

On my next cruise, I'll be going with a friend who has never cruised before (or even had a proper vacation of any sort) and I'm even more excited thinking about how much fun she'll have.

101 days until we're on the Breeze!

  3. Do you need a marriage license if you have a passport? Last time we crusied which is about 10 yrs ago we just used birth certificates so i needed my marriage license. Next time we go we plan on having passports.

if you have a passport you shouldn't need any other form of id. if you're nervous you can always call Carnival to confirm.

  4. haven't left anything behind yet (knock on wood).

I check every nook and cranny more than once. I even make sure to feel around inside the safe, lifting up the mat that's in there. I read on CC about someone who had left something inside the safe that way so I always try to be mindful.

glad to see that at least some of you were reunited with your items.

  5. everyone else has given good advice, so I'm just one more post to help ease your mind. my favorite sea-sickness prevention is ginger pills (you can find them in most pharmacies with the vitamins and supplements). the pills are good because the flavor of ginger in the candies is really strong and a lot of people don't like it.

I also second the suggestion to keep food in your tummy and to bring more than one option to see what works best for you.

have a GREAT cruise and let us know how it went :-)

  6. I've had this type of room twice and think it's a great value. Like everyone else said the view depends on if you're in between the life boats or not, and you need to be careful when changing since workers can be outside at all hours.

I would absolutely book one of these rooms again.

  7. this thread is making me feel better.

I just booked a cruise for this July and my last cruise was last July. When I squealed my excitement when I got the confirmation email while at work, one of my coworkers said to me "Shouldn't you be paying off your student loans?" I thought that was so presumptuous.

Luckily, there are a few people at work who are cruising fans also, so I can share my excitement with them. And of course there is always a fine group of people on these boards who will be excited with me.

  8. I did learn a few new ones though - super glue (I should know this one as I have crowns and caps:D)

please don't EVER put super glue in your mouth! the super glue site itself says "When using Super Glue, work in a well ventilated area to avoid breathing the fumes." I'm pretty sure if you shouldn't breathe it in, you shouldn't put it in your mouth. also, webmd and my own dentist (I have several crowns myself) say to not do this.

I hope you don't think I'm picking on you.... this is the 2nd post I've read mentioning this so I felt I had to put in my own two cents.

    happy cruising! :)
