Ok, please don't take this the wrong way... Breaking the pool rules is very insulting to fellow passengers, whether the staff notices or not. I would suggest that you possibly wait until your youngest is trained (as this is your first cruise), and then go and have a relaxing for all cruise.

My two cents, cruised on Connie in April, great ship, excellent crew, fun time... also "layout all wrong"? No clue what that even means.. we never got lost...

We were on Connie last April, Italy, Turkey & Greek isles cruise out of Rome. Had a wonderful time , great ship. Also , Venice & Barcelona, two awesome cities... although you may want more than 2 days in Barcelona... just my opinion...

I use these luggage tag holders that you can get on Amazon. I've seen several of those flimsy tags, especially the ones the porters use at the pier, fall off. https://www.amazon.com/Cruise-Luggage-Holders-Caribbean-Celebrity/dp/B00IAA82IE
You can easily print your own luggage tags to fit inside the above holders using this pdf luggage tag tool: http://www.zansstuff.com/luggage-tags
I bought (Amazon) and use these tags also, work very well. Just printed, folded and slipped them in, appear to be very sturdy

If you enjoy overpaying to be herded like cattle on an overcrowded excursion with zero ability to personalize, lots of wasted time and often forced "shopping" stops at venues that give a kickback to the cruise line, so be it.
If one does a little research and books with a reputable private vendor and utilizes a little common sense the chances of missing the ship are minuscule. Perhaps the tiny, remote chance of missing the ship is enough to entice some people to overpay for an inferior experience, but many informed cruisers refuse to partake in a cruise line excursion.
Absolutely right Gonzo! We have never had an issue with private tours, always small groups, better pricing and superior guides. Took a ship tour once (Panama Canal, had no choice), it was the worst, was obvious the guides did not care, had many problems, was basically amateur hour... never again!

For the same reason as the story's moral of The Scorpion & the Frog.
Switched from HAL to X , have taken three cruises on X, is our line of choice (approx 2 / year)...
See you next month Steve..!

My quick opinion, we went from Neptune Suite on HAL to Sky Suite on Celebrity, prefer Celebrity overall..

We visit Chalet Suisse at least 1 time during our trips to Aruba. Great food and service. We have never been let down.

We are also on Eclipse next month (1/22), have enjoyed MC on previous cruise. I thought the concierge on the January cruise was going to be the same as we had last April on the Constellation (Meghan possibly), will see...

Our "Go Best" on our last 3 cruises has been premium drink pkg, but I would still get it in writing, better safe than sorry...

Also depends on cabin choice, on some, if not most cruise lines, higher end cabins are ready earlier and have luggage earlier

Of course, we have booked Aqua (Blu) & Suites (Luminae), and eaten with friends (new & old) in the MDR... Never thought twice about it.... Have a grand cruise!!

Nice review! Thanks. We are Sky Suite on Eclipse in Jan, based on previous cruises, agree with your opinions. Feel the same regarding the Sunset bar... Service there pretty mediocre in general. Like Luminae a lot, have taken excellent care of my wife (gluten / celiac issues). Entertainment uneven, fellow passengers a good group for the most part (can't love everyone...)
