  1. We are getting ready to do this exact thing in three weeks. We've actually done both. Nativways is fantastic. Last time we were in Cayman, we did there Reef, Rays & Rum Point tour. It was Fabulous!

This time we have our son and my parents with us and I think we're just going to book through the ship. I don't want to be stressed about trying to get an early tender then be on time to meet for the tour. My Mom has some mobility issues and can't walk super long distances or stand in line waiting for long periods of time. I just think this will work best for us.

The savings on booking independently is only about $30. There is no priority tendering for those who book privately. So, not worth it for us this time.

    Good luck!

  2. We cruised last Spring Break and had quite a few college kids on board. None of them were obnoxious or disrespectful. I have an 8 year old and never felt that they were inappropriate. My hubs and I got a kick out of their antics!

However, we did a land based vacation at an AI on Paradise Island during Spring Break one year and it was a disaster! There were drunk kids everywhere! They even raided the kitchen one night.

I think it's kind of like a box of chocolates! You never know what you're going to get.

With that being said, we're headed out on a 5 Night Western in 32 days. Spring Break tends to be when I can not take the cold weather anymore! I'm a teacher and we have to cruise when I don't have to work. Good luck!

  3. A few threads lately have stated that the slide and pool bar at the Wyndham is closed. Does anyone know if it will be reopening? We will be in port mid-March. Thinking also of going this route as according to threads, you have access to both properties. Essentially, could we pay the $20/person at Wyndham and use the Melia facilities if were not happy at Wyndham? How far apart are they? Is the casino close and open during the day? We have a group going and one is not really a beach person but loves casinos. Trying to cover all the bases.

  4. We did the Melia day passes the last time my family and I were in Nassau and it was great! Compared to the Hilton, the Melia has more indoor space to relax which was great for my husband who needed an hour to catch up some business. They have free wifi in the lobby and a nice beach with three pools. We paid about 30$ for adults and $25 for kids. It was a ten minute cab ride but because cabs were lined up at the port we got there in no time and were able to escape the chaotic port as soon as we arrived...Kids loved it - Great day overall :)

What was the cost of the cab each way? We're thinking about the Melia or Whyndam. Thanks!

  5. DH and I haven't done the Dolphin Encounter, but have gone to stingray city/snorkeling twice and loved it both times. I would highly recommend Stingray City. DH and I are going back to GC for the third time in September and are doing an island tour this time as we have been in the water for a majority of our port time during the last two visits. I've noticed that the Dolphin Encounters seem to be offered at many ports. I would not miss out on the stingrays and maybe try and fit in the dolphins at another port. Whatever you choose, have a great time!
