Anyone know where I can buy Govenors Reserve dark rum near the port? The only place I have found it was at a liquor store near the public beach. Hoping to find it closer to the port next time!
-
Does anybody know if you can get these on the Horizon? Might be the difference between getting and not getting the drink package!😉
-
Darn! Thank you! That is what I was thinking of! I guess its daily mock booking....
-
Last time I sailed, there was a super easy way to check cruise prices without going through the booking process. Does anyone have that early saver price check link?
-
Trying to navigate the deck plans and having some trouble. What cove balcony have you loved on the Horizon? On the Dream, Breeze and Magic we have always been able to get the one in between the life boats with mostly quiet overhead!
-
If you can, check out the price difference between an Ocean view or balcony, it might be worth the extra money to avoid having one of your bed' s be an upper. Split between 3 it might be doable 😊

It is very doable. I was just on a girls trip with 3 in a room. Everyone was very respectful of putting our things away and cleaning up after ourselves, we worked out showering so we weren't all there at the exact time, there was plenty of room. It's not so much about the space but the people you are sharing with. The space is definitely adequate !

Maybe it depends when your sailing is? There was not a place to pick a check in time when I originally booked, or checked back a few months ago, but when I saw this post, I went back and checked, and sure, enough, there was a place to pick our check in time. We sail on April 29th, maybe there is a sailing they are started them on?

Hi there!
On the Glory next week, 3 of us for a girls' cruise:). And, while I know St. Thomas is equipped to handle lots of ships, there will be 3 there the day we are, (one is Harmony of the Seas). We get there last, at 11. Thinking of Secret Harbour or Saphire (can't spell it for the life of me, right now:D) anyone have a guess if they will be too crowded by then? Just looking for 3 chairs and a drink..:p I figure Meghan's will be packed, that was our other thought..or any other suggestions? We are coming in on the Glory.
Thanks!

We are sailing on the Magic in April. I don't see anywhere to pick our check in time?t I have done the staggered boarding in New Orleans, and selected one for our cruise out of Miami, so I know what to look for, but I am not seeing anywhere. Any one else experience this? Should I call? We don't have FTTF, so I want to get an early time.

We are going on a girls cruise in January. My friend did the booking. I have the booking number and her information (name/birthdate) if I add this information into my profile under Add Booking, will we both have access to the booking? I don't want to take it away from her, but I would like to pay with my own cc, do my own on line check in, etc. Anyone have experience with this>

We are going in April, and will be one of 3 ships in Port. According to Port times, we get there 2.:). I had planned on going to LFK, then came across this thread. However, as I did research, it sounded like, "crowded" was a common theme everywhere. Somebody said bananarama was crowded, the pictures of Beacher's shows the chairs touching each other..so my point, I guess is, will everywhere be crowded? I hate to skip LFK, only to find myself at an equally crowded beach. If we have the attitude we might have to wait a bit to get in, will it be so awful once we are inside? We have done the Island tour and the monkey thing, and really just wanted beautiful beach and good snorkeling. :)

We took our 3kids there in March. (18, 15, 10). We also went primarily for the snorkeling. It was good snorkeling for the adults and the 18 year old, but it was too rough for our 10 and 15 year old beginners. They only did a little bit of snorkeling. It seemed there wasn't really much else right there at the beach they were interested in. We packed up and did the sea lion show. We had also reserved the swim with the Dolphins for the kids (which is why we were there.) There is a pool in that area and my kids loved the Dolphin Swim.
My thoughts, we were in port from 11-6, so we didn't get to the park until 11:30 or so and their Dolphin Swim was at 2:30. There seemed to be a lot to do at the park, it was beaufiful, but we didn't have enough time to really explore the park. The snorkeling was rough for beginners, but the beach was beautiful and if you have kids who like to play in the sand, it was nice. The cost to enter is more than the other beaches, if you are looking just for a beach and snorkeling, while it was beautiful, I don't know that I would pick it for beginner snorkelers, if they don't really like it, beach activities are kind of limited.

We did this as a family trip in March. It was wonderful. Sailing out of New Orleans was super easy and lots of fun. Here are a few things I would tell someone if asked, and well, you asked. :)
Â
We drove from Wisconsin, I think it was a 14 hour drive. We drove half way the way down and straight back. The drive down was fine, the drive home was fine, just long. If you are looking to save money, I would figure it all out. Even with paying for parking, hotel, gas, snacks and parking for the week it was still probably over a 1000.00 cheaper than flying would have been for that week for a family of 5.
Â
We stayed at the Hilton Riverside. I booked it off of Hotels. com. We chose to just pay the 30 bucks to park there the first night. The next morning, we moved the car to Fulton Garage, (which is literally a few minutes away), and parked there for the trip. It was very easy. (you can find lots of information on Fulton Garage under the search).
Â
I was excited to show my kids New Orleans, but honestly, they didn't want to spend a ton of time in the French Quarter. It was very different for them, and once they experienced it, they were good. I would have planned our day there better, maybe gone to a plantation or something. Granted, they were tired and a bit cranky from driving..but spending all day around the French Quarter was definitely not their thing!
Â
We did get FTTF. Normally, if it is just my husband and myself, I don't. We can wait. But this was a spring break cruise and I just thought, why not. It was totally worth it, traveling with kids. If you can get that, I would recommend it.
Â
I would research the ports you are in. You can definitely find some great ideas on these boards!
Â
Have fun, I agree, planning is half the fun!

you mentioned your son went to Camp Ocean the first night? I always thought they only had the family party the first night and no drop offs until the next day? We have a 10 year old. She is really looking forward to it. I am glad your son had a good time!
-
I would just keep checking the website. We are going in April and I booked it for my 3 kids (18,16 and 10), for something like 290.00 total. I believe it is the Royal Swim (the one with more stuff). They were running a special, I don't remember what it was exactly, but the price equals out to about 99.00 per person. I think they run different "sales" all the time.
-
Can anyone tell me the cab fare for a family of 5 to Chankanaab?
-
I second the Radiance class with Royal. I have been on the Carnival Legend twice and the Serenade of the Seas and the Jewel of the Seas, I think they were pretty similar in size.
-
Thank you for the suggestion. We are traveling with our 3 kids (18, 15 and 10). They very much want to experience New Orleans, this church sounds like a great option. I can imagine the energy that would be there at Easter Sunday Mass.
-
Thank you for your responses. It does look like we might have to settle for a 9am Mass.
-
We are leaving on the Dream on Easter. I would like to attend a Sunrise Mass on Easter Sunday. We are staying at the Hilton Riverside. Is there a Catholic Church nearby? We will have our car parked at Fulton Garage if necessary, but I would prefer to walk if there is one within walking distance. Thanks!

in Norwegian Cruise Line

We will be onboard the Escape is a few weeks. We didnt know about Vibe when we booked and passes are not available online. Does anyone know if they sell passes onboard? If so, where would we go to get them?
