I just read an article that there was another death at Terra Linda resort on June 13.
We had planned on enjoying the pool at Amber Cove in October, however, we may just stay on the ship.
And my response to the comments of how dangerous many US cities are is that, personally I would think if I'm staying at a 4* or whatever resort and do not leave the resort, I have a higher expectation of safety than if I'm walking the streets of New York, Chicago, Miami, etc., at night. People are dying and getting sick at nice resorts, not just walking around in a potentially unsafe area.

Thank you so much! We love AI resorts, and it would be nice to have a swim up bar and an adult only day.
Deciding between this and the blue hole/river tubing adventure

Thanks for sharing! We are considering this tour and your video helps alot!

Just curious if you've already done this? We're considering it for our fall cruise which stops at Ocho Rios. Thanks!

My concern would be...paid passengers are ok, sure. If a sailing is only at 50% occupancy, and there's no legal way for the cruise line to sell more tickets to fill the ship, I have no doubt that they'll change itineraries.
I completely agree. We (were/are) supposed to go in October so our cruise is definitely not sold out, however now no new people can book and be exempt. This was my exact thought. Boooo. I just hope they don't replace with Nassau, but we will go anyway. Hopefully the price drops, especially since we are 2 months before final payment.

Hello, thanks so much for the review. We are booked on the same ship and itinerary this fall. Can you please elaborate on the sushi station? Is it a pay venue such as Bonsai on the Sunshine? We enjoy sushi and are glad there is some option on the Sensation. We knew going in the dining options are limited compared to ships we're normally on....it's great to read about another option. I
Any chance you walked by the piano bar? It's our favorite evening venue and are hoping it is roomy compared to the Sunshine or in a hallway like the Breeze. Our favorite was on Conquest class ships.
One last question, we will disembark the Sensation then embark on the Conquest. Did you notice if the ships dock next to each other? We are planning on walking between the two ships, are in good shape, and pack pretty lightly. So long as they are docked together I don't see an issue even if it's hot.
Thanks so much for your thoughts!

We will be sailing on 2/1/20 from Port Everglades. We knew it will be Super bowl in Miami so definitely will be booking a hotel as soon as they open. I check frequently, especially since we wAnt to visit Superbowl City before we sail.

We've done the drive twice (Fort Lauderdale to Walt Disney world, and Walt Disney world to Port of Miami) and it is an easy drive. It took us 3 to 3.5 hours both times.

I snagged Hyatt Regency Downtown for $115 + tax after a coupon on Hotwire. I'm very happy with the price and hotel. Now to just wait for our departure day....in October. Haha.

Thank you for the advice! I think we'll definitely stay in Downtown Miami and just Uber or Lift from FLL on Sunday night since there are just 2 of us. No great savings in Fort Lauderdale for a good hotel, and it'll save us time and money. Now to get a deal on a hotel!

Hello, we are flying into FLL on a Sunday night in October for a cruise that leaves Port of Miami on Monday.
We usually would stay near FLL then take QLS or MJS transportation to the port, but this time I'm concerned about traffic leaving FLL area on a Monday around 10 am. I would like to be at the port by 11:30.
We are thinking about a one way car rental FLL to MIA and staying at a hotel near MIA so we are in charge of when we leave.
Any thoughts? Am I worried about traffic for nothing? Thanks!

We only book balcony rooms and get a cove whenever it's available. We love the value and the privacy of the cove. We are sure to book between lifeboats so we have some sun. Another benefit is being on Deck 2 for port days, plus we keep in shape using the stairs.

If it was an early saver booking and you can find an open cruise to book them on, Carnival will likely apply $400 of thr penalty. Call Carnival and see what they can do.

Thanks for the review! I appreciate all of the info since we'll be on Sunshine next. I also get more out of succinct written reviews rather than photo reviews.

Also try Alamo at the Dolphin. We were able to reserve a one way rental for January for only $53 for a full sized car.

We have a Halloween cruise on Sunshine and I have one question although I don't know if you would have an exact answer. My friend has a bad back and I have bad legs... so neither of us can stand still for a long period of time. Was wondering if their Muster drill was outside or inside? I know it depends on room location, but in general. I kinda wanted to know ahead of time just so if needed we can request special needs muster where we can sit. We are in an Extended Aft Balcony on deck 6. If anyone can help with this information, I would appreciate it.
Im so glad u asked this! I opened this thread just to see if this info is here! We don't have special needs; just like to be in the know. Have a great cruise!!

We're doing a combo trip in January. We'll fly to MCO, take Magical Express to a Disney property (not sure which one yet, it will depend on sales) and visit the parks for two days. We will either Uber to the port or I have a rental reserved at the Disney Dolphin, dropping off at the port.
We've done two previous combo trips, but sailed out of other Florida ports. So much fun !

We've never oredered unopened beer for ports, but do get a few waters, sodas and/or powerades. Didn't have any issues.

We were on the Breeze in February and the kids were horrible in the aft pool (all ages). They ran around the edge splashing everyone, then would cannonball into the pool splashing everyone. Most of them were even too short to touch the bottom. After that, we said no more Dream class. But now, that extends to any ship without a pool in Serenity. Glad we booked on the Sunshine for the next one. The problem is the parents who allow their kids to act this way. It is not ok to jump right in front of people and splash water in their faces! I doubt many people have an issue with well behaved kids in the pool. I voted in the poll.

We're going on the Sunshine out of Port Canaveral in 1/2018 to Aruba, Bonaire and Grand Turk. You might want to wait a bit to see which other ships go there, if ship is important. We've been on the Conquest twice though .... it is a fine ship.

Hello: We have a late flight (5:45) after our cruise in February. We really don't want to get to IAH before 3:00. I know it can take an hour and a half to get to IAH from the port but that still means we need to find something to do until 1:30. I see a post with several ideas walkable from the ship, but any ideas where we could store our luggage while we walk around for a few hours?
Thanks!

Alaska is my preferred airline. I always look there first. They have the best mileage/visa plan as far as i am concerned. (Yearly BOGO, money+miles flights, etc)

Same thing happened to me a while ago. I just called, confirmed it hadn't been purchased (I was really hoping I hadn't forgotten something like that - ha ha), and then when it was confirmed I didn't have it, purchased it over the phone.
Only downside is that I didn't get an email receipt so I will have to call them again and ask them to send proof to me.

You can call Carnival and many times there are rooms available that are not shown when you are looking online.
Our friends just booked Sunshine for 1/20/18 and chose a room that wasn't showing as available on the website....

Thanks so much for the review! We will be back on the Conquest for the 3rd time in October. I'm glad to read that the aft pool is adults only (and enforced - on the last few ships we have been on it seemed like the parents didn't feel the need to watch their children and the kids were out of control), and glad to read about the dining room and shows.
