  1. 11150 is a standard balcony of 192sq ft (living area 168 ; bathroom 24) with a balcony of 42 sq ft.

It is on the hump so will have good views in all directions and will not suffer from the deck 14 overhang.

It is directly opposite the entance to the main bank of lifts, which some say is very convenient for getting around the ship, others worry about noise from inconsiderate guests.

  4. We have booked several times a day or two before the sailing. Before FDR we were able to get great last minute deals. I don't think that exists now. FDR would rather let the rooms sail empty than cut the price to move the rooms. I think he thinks he will retrain the last minute customers to book earlier and pay more. The best deal we ever got was $400 for a balcony for the 10 day Canada/New England cruise. Last year we paid $299 + $75 of onboard credit for the 7 day New England cruise and got an oceanview room. We booked 2 days before sailing and took the 2nd to the last room on the ship.

Love hearing of all the deals and the last minute booking - going to give it a shot - looking for the Boston - to Bermuda cruise.. fingers crossed -

    keep the postings coming!!!

  5. We went on Indy Dec 2013 and we had 3 hump cabins on Deck 6. We all loved the hump cabins...enough that I will try and book hump cabins all the time on a Freedom class ships. We have Oasis booked on the forward hump for our next cruise. We had cabins 6636, 6638, and 6640. Only thing I'm not sure of is your balcony. All of ours were basic balcony shapes. If you look on the deck plan it shows the shape of your balcony...however, any hump is good. Loved being by the elevators and we had no noise at all. I have big time vertigo issues on land let alone on a cruise. Mthis was the first cruise I had zero issues with vertigo or seasickness. Yes I used the patch and bonine and had nausea medicine in case. I want to go back to Indy as it was hands down best cruise ever!

Thank you Toddcan! your pictures make a difference! we are seasoned Disney cruisers and the JS is about the same size as the Family balcony rooms and the extra room makes a difference for us as we enjoy our room too especially the balcony!! - I am an earlier riser and to have the sitting area - next to the balcony it key -as I can enjoy my early mornings while hubby sleeps -

it is an 8 night cruise.... the sad part now is the mid ship cabin that was available is not gone :( .... so will rethink -

  7. As RCI have started a new 'upsell' email program just this week, late 'upgrades' will be come less available. These paid upgrades are made available in the weeks prior to a sailing and will be targeted.

Those booking directly will be notified by email and those booking through a travel agent will have the agent first notified 24 hours to receiving their own email.

Thank you MADflyer! .... that is good to know - we are a few weeks out - and we booked directly - so if it is meant to be, it will be - and if the email has a good deal we'll take it! Other wise we will be happy in our balcony 8 for room

  8. A lot of them are from foreign countries and most dont go into port, they are on the next cruise serving again. So in my opinion phone cards are a good gesture because they are hard to find, and yes cellular is cheap, that's if you're calling within America or Canada. If they're trying to call overseas rates are not cheap. Phone cards would give them the flexibility. I say go for it.

Lisa, I haven't cruised in like 10 years - and back when we were cruising regularly - phone cards were a huge hit - I would buy the international phone cards and give them as gifts to the staff we had direct contact with especially our cabin stewart. Back then - when the ships pulled into port - the crew that could get off in ports would gather all around the pay phones to call home - so the international cards were a huge hit. That is why I was asking :)

Thank you Lisa - for seeing it - the way I was asking!!

Thank you everyone - Cash is what we will pass out as gifts - when we start our cruise :)

  10. It is possible but doubtful. They really had good prices too. Balcony to suite$300 total. Inside to balcony $600 total. But watch the prices as it gets closer, my navigator cruise on the 29th jr suites just dropped to $1099 for a senior rate and $1265 for a guarantee suite from almost $1600. Check your prices daily

THANK-You!! so much for this info - I have to call to apply a gift card will ask and stay on top of it online too!

    Have a GREAT day!!

  11. Hi Cruisers

First time sailing RCC - and we are going on the Indy in April 2015 - we have a great room - but are celebrating our 20th wedding anniv - and was wondering about possibly upgrading to a suite/if available when we check in at port.

have you done this? - and what is the ball park prices? - do they offer a bit of a discount? we have a nice balcony room - mid ship - so if it doesn't happen no big deal - just thought I would ask

Thank you - Love this forum!!

  12. Awesome!

Thank you everyone!! it is what I thought - so will do the old Handshake with cash - and do the gratuity through the cruise line - like I mentioned - it's been 10 years - and I know things have changed but just wanted to check!

ok - that is crossed off my list - now on to the next item xo
