  1. Hi has anyone done this excursion...we are going in Aug and wanted to know if it was truly worth the 200.00 pp

Not sure what time we get in with Carnival Pride...I assume it can only be booked through Carnival vs straight to them...PLEASE your thoughts.

  2. Have any of you purchased a picture package prior to the cruse or on the cruise? There is a thread out there about how the pricing, but it inidicates the cost various by ship and length of he cruise. Since I will be on the 7 day Eastern Caribbean, I was wondering if any of you did this. It appears the pre-cruise pricing is excellent, if you are a big picture fan like me.

So you basically prepay at a discounted rate for pictures....do you have that info via web... I am interested...

  3. Well, I needed a new photo in digital format for my magazine column. Went to several shoots with no intention of buying. Found one I liked then went to the free draw on the last evening. They drew 3 winners. Sure enough, I won the first draw: Free portrait + digital.

    Had I not won I wouldn't have bought. ;-)

Tell me about the last night with the free draw...I didn't know anything about that...

  4. Love the windsock idea - I'll be high-tailing it to the dollar tree! I already have tropical fish for our doors (5 cabins same deck/all port side but not adjacent). I also previously picked up ponchos for the rainforest; sewing kit - scissors, needle and thread; small flashlight; lysol wipes; screwtop plastic qt. size containers - for getting juice for our fridge - we make mimosas; throw away reading glasses, throwaway sunglasses, and throwaway reading sunglasses. I want to Be SURE I can see the menus!!:D I think I'll get a dry erase for leaving messages, too.

How do you make mimosas with the alchol??

  5. I wanted to share a nifty little item that I came across yesterday at Walmart. It is the new Mia Drink mixes. It is a small bottle of liquid flavoring that you squirt into your water bottle. It is so small that it fits into the palm of your hand so paking this for a cruise will be really easy.

I found it in the Crystal Lite section and it sold for $3.50. They had several flavors including a few fruit teas, lemonaide, fruit punch, berry and a couple of others. Here is a link if you are not familiar with Mia

Here is a link to receive a free sample. http://onefrugalchick.com/2011/03/22/free-mio-drink-mix-sample-new-product/

How do they taste....I don't like the taste of the diet drinks and such does it have that after taste to it??

  6. Hello...I totally want to be subscribed to your link....so if you do emails on weekly stuff...or what is the deal of the week...please email me Lbullard@hotmail.com even on regular things too.

I think this time I am trying to find out if folks don't want their coupon books that they receive on board...we are going on a Royal Cruise and they give coupon books....I would love to get my hands on some extra or different ones. I also like the idea of Target and getting the liquid detergent to wash out underware and such in the sink I find that the powder does not work as well....happy savings. Lynn

  7. How many days is your cruise? How about bring on a few 6 packs of the soda you like, and figure on buying a soda at dinner each night. If you just have to have soda with your meals. I think a can of soda is only a couple dollars. If you buy a soda at dinner every night on 7 day cruise = $14 or so, then get by the rest of the day with the soda you carried on board the ship. Lots cheaper than $80.

And I'm not certain on the exact price of the soda, & they will tack on %15 gratuity. The point is whether 2 or 3 bucks a can, it's still going to be way cheaper than buying the soda card if you can keep to purchasing just a can a day.

Are cruise is 9 days.....I think for 3 of us it will cost close to 100. I think

  8. 1. No drinks at bars.

    2. We cruise HAL and Princess so we bring our own wine on board - usually a case per week.

    3. No pictures - they are all lousy and overpriced.

    4. No gambling - I live in Las Vegas where the games are honest and the odds better and I don't gamble here.

    5. No souvenirs bought on board - they are all junk

    6. No spas - I look great without one.

    7. Almost no ship tours - I do private tours

    8. Minimal but some extra cost dining

The last trip I did, my bill exclusive of tips and a few tours that I had to take through the ship was about $60.

Hello we are headed to New England Canada...have you done any excursions there or hear of any good to do??

  9. Dollar Tree and similar stores sell plastic hooded rain ponchos one or two per pack for $1 (obviously). These are GREAT for travel, outdoor concerts, any outdoor events. Much more convenient that hauling around a raincoat, umbrella, etc., and they can just be thrown away when you are done (no dealing with a drippy umbrella or damp coat). Lightweight and take up very littel space in the luggage. I'm throwing in several for our Canada cruise in June.

We used these once during a rainstorm at a theme park and people were constantly stopping to ask where they could buy one. We proudly told them we'd bought them at the dollar store and brought them along. And we noticed the gift shop was selling disposable ponchos for $15.

We too are going to New England trip but June 16...what about you....

  10. I got this one, the Blond Giraffe is by far the best Key Lime Pie I have ever tasted!!! They are written up about and win prizes every year! I walk all the from the sea port in Key West in 90 degrees temps. to the Blond Giraffe and a piece of this pie! No matter what we have planned and what we wind up doing, the Blond Giraffe is at the top of the list!

Check out their website at www.blondgiraffe.com.

You won't be sorry, I promise!

Why we charge $ 120.00 when we ship a 10 inches Key Lime Pie ?

    1 10 inches deep dish whole key lime pie (37 oz) X $ 29.00 (serves 10 to 12).

Container and corrugated box: $ 9.00

    Dry Ice : $ 3.00

    Handling: $ 4.00

    Overnight Priority Fedex: $ 75.00

    Total: $ 120.00

  11. It did in February when we were on her.

What was the best part of being on FOS and worst. What do you wish you knew prior to going on?? Never been on a Royal and we will go in Aug.
