  1. True story. My granddaughter's dog ATE her vaccination card!  We were going for her second vac and the pharmacy was very understanding and looked up her records in the computer and filled out a new card with both shots on it now.  I was nervous because when I got my first shot they said "do not lose this card."  Really appreciated their help.  The card is now on lockdown.  The dog should be too!

  2. Thanks again for the suggestions and input! I believe it will be HAL for us. Just checking with the others in my group! Most of my trips to Alaska have been sunshine and smooth sailing. Except for one where it rained the entire 14 days so hopefully the cover will be closed if that happens!

  3. As you can see I have been to Alaska a few times. We were considering the Crown but a poster here said there is no retractable roof on the one pool on the Lido deck. I guess I consider it a must for Alaska. Nice place to view the scenery without getting cold. Also, as we know, it rains in Alaska so this would be useless space on a ship with 3,000 people. If the buffet area is full you can always bring your food out there and find a table too.

I have been on the Amsterdam and really enjoyed it...so I am leaning toward Westerdam just for that area on the ship alone! Any thoughts? Thanks.

  5. Last July, boarded the Amsterdam in Seattle. We were picked up at our airport hotel at 10:00. Drove to the pier and went right into the building to drop luggage and take the escalator up to the next level for check in. We were assigned a goup number, which I recall as being in group 3. To make a long story short, we were seated in the Lido having lunch at 11:35. I believe they becan calling group numbers at about 11:00. Enjoy!!!

  6. You can walk...it is a bit of a hike, I would say about 10-15 minutes. They do have shuttles right there that you can hop on and they will take you "downtown". Last year they looked like streetcar-trolley type things. It was raining so we opted for the ride in. We walked back then once the weather cleared. If you are taking a Duck Tour, they come right there by where the ship docks. It is easy and flat walking all along the shore, so a pleasant stroll at any rate.
