Hi! Curious if you did this and if you enjoyed it? Was it with River Rapids Jamaica?

When we cruised last March our waiter delighted my kids by bringing them an extra Chicken Parmesan from the night before because he knew they liked it so much. We didn't ask for it nor expect something off menu but it created a WOW moment for my kids and I doubt was made fresh it was probably leftover lol. Will be interesting to see what they do next month when we cruise on Oasis again.

The Humans was current as of a couple weeks ago when we sailed. I admittedly didn't pay attention to any of the rest.

We were on Oasis last week of March and it was sailing at 75% which was the line average. It felt a little less crowded than normal and not terrible. We were told that in 2 weeks (so now) that they would be at 90%. I would anticipate that the days of low capacity are over.

We have an ineligible, unvaccinated child in our party and the excursion we wanted to take is full. Are there any beaches near port that would be easy to parent swap so that both my husband and I can enjoy some beach time while the other watches the kiddo onboard? I know that we could use childcare but prefer not to leave him all alone. Thanks in advance!

Gosh at least you have options to go private. I would prefer to but we can’t due to the fact that we have a 3 year old traveling with us. Oasis is a beautiful ship but mama needs the beach!!

The little port pass as a example was 10.00 before the cruise, went down to 7.99 with one late time left. .. onboard the price is 15.99

 

If you want a excursion book before the cruise or first day before prices go up. Yes I bet they will open more spots ... at much higher prices.

 

Roatan has some little excursion into a rain forest, animal rescue and says butterflies and hummingbirds and hold a slot. Some dates its 44.99 and some 40.99. Some dates on sale down to 29.99  ...onboard price was 66.00.

 

I can name others onboard price vs pre boarding price. I'm taking advantage of what I consider good prices. 

The problem is there aren’t any available right now that suit our party. Either not enough spots for all of us or none at all or some of my kids are too young/short to take the excursions available. I just feel like if they’re going to force us to use their excursions that they should have enough available for us to get off the ship. Literally right now one of my kids can’t do anything than to get off and walk around port due to their policies and availability 😢.

Do they open up more availability onboard the ship or can you get added to an excursion waitlist? We are traveling with an unvaccinated child due to age and want to do a beach break but they’re all sold out at both ports of call 😢.
 

Also, we almost never use cruise sponsored tours because of the cost. I presume if the rest in our party are vaccinated it is ok to split up and have just one adult accompany the unvaxxed minor on the cruise tour then have the rest of our party meet us via taxi?

Hahaha I said the same thing when I looked into entertainment for our upcoming Oasis sailing. I love Broadway and CATS is the only show I can’t do. It’s so bizzare and boring. I left at intermission last time and wasn’t going to bother this time which is sad because I typically enjoy the entertainment! It’s got to go.

In 6 years, I have never seen RCI prices that low! :eek:

It's a rarity these days but they exist. It is exactly why I booked a last minute (for us) cruise just last week. Interior (M) on Liberty was $216.50pp for 4 nights before tax/port fees AND included $50 OBC!

Last year we got Balcony (B2) on Allure for just over $122pp for 7 nights before tax/fees and I think $100 OBC. Balcony at $100pp is usually my benchmark for a good deal.

My benchmark is $50pp/day for an interior is a good deal

Hi. Has anybody ever done the reef explorer semi sub on their own? I can't find anywhere online to purchase tickets and usually find it's cheaper to DIY than pay the cruiseline's excursion fees. I'm not even sure where it is and whether it's walkable or need a taxi! We'll be on RCCL Liberty OTS which I think docks in the International Pier.

My plan is to bring our umbrella stroller and then ergo with frogg togg chilly pad (price is different depending on color) between baby's legs to help keep us both cool. I can let you know how it works out once we're back.

Any recent pricing for unlimited on Allure? Do they still give C&A vouchers for free internet cafe minutes and if so can that be used for your mobile device instead?

A JS is the minimum you'll get...and yes, they are likely to move someone up to make room for you in a JS....but you never know! You could get lucky! Even if all you get is the JS, you'll be paying less than the going rate, and a JS is a great way to sail!

In short, it doesn't necessarily mean that. Just because the online system doesn't show a JS available doesn't mean RCCL isn't holding some back and you'll receive a JS under your guarantee.

 

Upgrades are typically given to Pinnacle and Diamond Plus members first, then based on revenue, meaning they may offer a JS to GS upgrade to a stateroom who paid full price before they'd upgrade you for free under the guarantee.

 

That said, with pun intended, there's no guarantee with a guarantee! You are guaranteed at least a JS, but you could get upgraded higher.

 

I'm assuming you're speaking about the May 4th Allure because you're on the roll call with me. All of what I said previously aside, I've never been on a ship with so many staterooms available 10 days before sailing, especially 14 suites and their larger suites available.

 

Incidentally, I'm also booked in a Cat. W. I upgraded on Monday and typically have a stateroom assigned to my guarantee very quickly. As of last night when last I checked, I haven't been assigned a stateroom yet.

Yep, same sailing and interesting that they haven't assigned you, yet! We originally booked OV balcony gty last month and were assigned the same day. Since then we upgraded ourselves to the RFS. In retrospect I should have just bit the bullet and upgraded everyone to the Presidential when it was still available for about $12,000 (and there were 9 of us - 1 of which is a baby but still normally full price). Now half my party will have suite benefits and the other half doesn't. Plus that price was amazing for one of the largest cabins/balconies onboard...oh and hello private hot tub?!? Boy what a missed opportunity!! Still kicking myself...

With so many cabins still available I'm starting to wonder the opportunity to board at embarkation. Do they allow upgrades then and would it get even cheaper still?!

I think there are 8 or 9 GS left and so if I can get them a GS for the W price then it'd be well worth it...

LMK what you're assigned. Maybe they're waiting to sell out the Ws before assigning so that they can go by rank? Hope the upgrade fairy is nice to you!!

We're in the single digits before sailing and am considering upgrading my ILs cabin. There are some Category W (suite gty) available and looks like the only things left are GS, OS, ATS, SL, and RL...no JS.

Does this mean that if I book them a W they're guaranteed at least a grand suite? Or would someone else in a JS just get upgraded and then we'd be assigned a junior suite?
