  1. Niiiice! And you get to enjoy it on your cruise that's coming up! I played around with my camera a few weeks before we sailed. I didn't want to fumble around with it while traveling, so I got the hang of some of the functions before the trip. I hardly ever used the Auto feature. I mostly used:

    Super Vivid

    Fish Eye

Miniature (blurred the top and bottom of the frame-also helpful to take photos of food)

    Toy Camera

Low Light (for dinner menus and some food)

I am completely in awe of how many features it has. It's by far the best digital I've ever had.

  2. The photos of the Liberty next to the Jewel are absolutely incredible. They're beautiful. I've had the opportunity to see the Jewel quite a few times in port and up close she is one big ship! We're going on the Freedom in 30 days and I questioned many times just how big will she be, after cruising on the Oasis. These pictures speak for themselves. They're just astonishing. I'm thoroughly enjoying your photo review. I just love all of the pictures! :D

Did you have a chance to take pictures of the Jewel of the Seas up from the top decks of the Liberty? I'm hoping I get to see one of those in the next few posts. :)

  3. Hi Everyone-

My husband and I just came off the Oasis of the Seas last week and we loved it. Last year we saild the Adventure of the Seas and loved that! Next year we want to try the Freedom and do the Bahamas, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten. My only fear is that we will be disappointed after coming off the Oasis. We are very easy going, love Royal Caribbean, and usually go with the flow no matter what the situation.

I just want to make sure this ship will provide the same fun entertainment, activities, and wonderful pool side fun that the last 2 cruises provided us with.

We love laying by the pool during the day and then hanging out in the Royal Promenade at night before dinner. We do the 8:30 dining typically in the dining room and have loved our waiters thus far and ALL of our past dinners there.

What is your advice? Do you think we will find this ship just as impressive? Again, I know there is not a central park or Aqua Theatre on this ship, however, we are actually looking for something a bit smaller and picked this ship.

HELP! Just want to make sure we are making the right choice. :D

Freedom is the in-between from Voyager Class to Oasis Class. If you felt like the Oasis was just too big and the Adventure just slightly too small, then the Freedom would be a perfect choice.. We are doing the same, we got off the Oasis and can't wait to board the Freedom! We chose this ship because it was quite cheaper and just to try out something new and fresh. Freedom of the Seas is just like the Adventure, just a bit longer and with some little extras here and there like the Flowrider and H2O zone..

  4. Both feature the RCI singers and dancers. Marquis is a review of numbers from famous Broadway musicals, but other than a nod to Phantom and maybe one other "recent" production, they are all from much, much older Broadway of a very similar nature. Think: 42nd Street, Cabaret, etc. They all just ran together for me! Nothing from Wicked, Momma Mia, Evita, Miss Saigon, or even Cats or Hair! So, it was OK, but I fell asleep. As for Once Upon a Time, it was more imaginative, using the storylines of famous farytales, like Rapunzel, Snow White, etc., but with the more current numbers from Broadway! So they did something from Hair (guess which fairy tale?), something from Wicked, and so on. It was much more entertaining, in my opinion. As for shows, though, DO NOT MISS the Ice Show! There, the imagination, effort and creativity really comes out, with professional skaters doing their best on a very small rink, and themes that came from all the things I wished were part of Marquis. That's my rundown, for what's it's worth, which is after all, just a matter of opinion. Have fun, no matter what! I had a blast and was glad to be there watching Marquis, Once Upon a Time and the Ice Show, instead of back home in the office!

Also, there was a comedian there, but I just saw a bit of his bit on the ship's TV only.

Thanks! That's the explanation I was looking for! :)

  5. Hi all! Love reading this post! We sailed the Indy about 3 years ago and are waiting for 2013 summer dates for the Freedom. I heard from my travel agent that the Freedom may get moved from Port Canaveral. Anyone else heard this? We really enjoy sailing out of that port.

There have been many speculations regarding the Freedom and Monarch with the Project Sunshine ships coming in 2014 and the widening of Port Canaveral to accommodate larger ships and the new terminal being built to accommodate ships as large as Oasis Class. I don't know what they're planning, but I can't wait to find out! :D

  6. OK, attached are two .pdf files with the Cruise Compass from our recent Eastern itinerary on the Freedom Of The Seas. The first one covers days 1 through 4, and the second one covers days 5 through 7. These just show the last two pages of each day's Compass (all of the schedule and open hours) since the rest of the Compass is either marketing or redundant. Sorry they are so rough; had to keep the file sizes down. Hope you enjoy your cruise on the Freedom Of The Seas as much as we did! I want to go back within a year or so.

Thank you so much! That's PERFECT! Just what I was looking for! Now my search can end. I've spent almost a month waiting and looking for these. Again, thank you so much! :):)
