  1. We have also just returned from this cruise. Many of the points that nyfeds made are very accurate. There were different service issues at the beginning of this cruise that seemed to improve as time went on. Terrace had many of them - tables not cleared - crowded - someone would ask if you needed water or coffee and then disappear. Lack of follow up.

When making specialty restaurant reservations - avoid 8:30 - both our reservations were for this time - last people seated - worst table (what everyone else has rejected) and dealing with servers that have had a very busy evening ... food was very good - but overall experience was lacking.

CD Corey was very good - overall entertainment was hit or miss. Enjoyed trivia - but felt there were long stretches where nothing was offered.

Our room stewards were very good - and food overall was excellent.

We really didn't care about officer interaction - but find that when they are visible all crew are performing at their best.

Did "O" impress us? No. It wasn't a bad cruise - just not memorable. Would we sail with them again? Possibly - but on a different ship.

  2. I'm happy for the both of you - but I believe you are exceptions to the rule - I'm sure there are many more loyal Azamara customers who have encountered the same road blocks I have recently experienced.

My husband and I sailed on Azamara when they were a new brand on the market - and have continued to consider them when planning other vacations - I have finally reached the Discover tier and the only benefit I will receive is an additional 30 minutes of poor internet time. That doesn't translate into a big THANK YOU for your brand loyalty.

    Just my humble opinion.

  3. Just spent two days trying to get an explanation of my benefits from the loyalty desk at Azamara. My admiration to any passengers who were able to take advantage of the complimentary nights perk. What I just realized is that you have to do a whole lot of planning to back into this offer. Having fulfilled two of the three criteria - I was just informed that I reached the next tier level three months prior to January of 2015 - making me unable to take advantage of this perk. Actually - the whole offer is laughable - considering it is not effective with any other offer - and when doesn't Azamara have another offer?

Not a happy camper - good luck to anyone trying to use this perk!

  4. Since the news of the "new" loyalty progam was announced, I have received atleast one or more e-mails a day from Azamara promoting some offer or cruise. The only communcation I want from Azamara is news that they have made a BIG mistake and are re-instating our former loyalty rewards.

I feel that the cruise critic forum has been a lot of free advertising for Azamara - promoting their product.

Unfortunately, they are still getting free advertising - but not the good kind any longer.

  5. We have recently completed a voyage on the Journey and were excited to move to the Discovery level after that cruise. I was excitedly planning another trip through the Panama canal for March of 2015 - and anticipating the additional perks we would receive with the revamping of the loyalty program.

I just got off the phone with azamara to find out our new status of Discovery does not allow us anything! No complimentary days - no internet - no laundry - and my guess is for us NO PANAMA CANAL CRUISE - on the Journey.

There are many other ships that offer this cruise - though I feel a loss - I think Azamara will be a bigger loser.

    What are they thinking?
