DH and I are planning on going to Sapphire Beach, but we'd also like to check out Mountain Top to get some pictures. We're in port from 7 am to 4 pm.

For those who have been there, what's the best way to see it all without paying a fortune for taxis, and still make the most of our day?

(as a side note, there'll be 4 other ships in port that day)

Have you checked with your cruise line? Your request is commonly done by cruise lines.

 

As to local venders, I am sure any local vender will carry your luggage with you on any tours, in some manner.

I have checked with our cruise line, and there are some offered. I was just wondering/hoping past cruisers may have any go-to tour groups that offer something better/cheaper.

We have a late flight out of FLL (arriving at POM) in Feb. Wondering if anyone has recommendations for sightseeing excursions where the company would provide storage of/bring our luggage with us including a drop off at FLL airport.

Carnival Freedom and we have reports it is now available on the Carnival Breeze and Carnival Sunshine beginning last/this week.

Cruise Critic friends are always fast with answers so I thought I'd ask here as I try to find the answer on Carnival's website, which isn't always the easiest. :eek:

Got it, misread your request. We have used Carnival transfers about 5 times. They are pricey, but the real issue is waiting for the bus to fill up..... Drove me crazy.

Thanks for the link. We have done the private transfer in the past and wondered what others had to say about Carnival's transfer service.

I just cancelled our Carnival Transfers and booked SAS ridesas.com I think. They pick us up from our hotel by FLL at 9:30 and take us to POM for 15pp.

Thanks for your input. We have done some research on other transfer companies and were wondering how Carnival transfers compared. Good to hear that someone else (and maybe others) has the same thought as us.

DH and I are booked on the Glory in Feb. We have already planned to fly in a day earlier, into, FLL, and are staying at a hotel near the airport. This hotel includes free shuttle to/from FLL airport. Would you suggest getting a private transfer company from the hotel, or take that return shuttle back to the airport and use Carnival's transportation. We do have FTTF, and the price for the transport companies v. Carnival are comparable. Thoughts??

For those that just bring carryons, how do you manage with toiletries? We can't bring more than a Ziploc-size bag and each container is limited to a 100 mL or less. When it comes to shampoo, conditioner, sunscreen, etc. it seems like it would be a problem.

Going on Carnival Breeze in March and know the Lido is open??

Same cruise, different cabins. I had to rebook excursions too. I will try to call CCL this afternoon.

I would definitely call! Our situation was the same as you. We went from having originally chosen our cabin to CCL choosing ours. We hadn't booked any excursions, just FTTF.

Unless you changed cruises, your FTTF should have carried over... at least ours did when we changed our booking with the Halloween promo.

DH and I are new members of the "Red" VIFP Club. Just checked the perks and apparently, we get a complimentary beverage at Seaday Brunch. Curious to know from fellow cruisers how do we go about getting this beverage (aside from going to the Brunch)?

grill cheese and fries... now thats his kindda eating.. we'll figure something out. BTW I have been vegetarian for 3 years now, about 2x a year i splurge and go for the burgers. I MISS burgers so much.. Last week I was on vacation and ate as much meat and just plain ole crap as i wanted and spent the whole week with stomach cramps... so about a month prior to my cruise i plan on tanning my stomach to accept the meat when i binge for a week, lol

ahahaha!!! This makes me laugh!! Before going on the Breeze this past Feb., I hadn't eaten red meat in about 20 yrs (chicken only)! On the ship, I just HAD TO TRY Guy's Burgers. I was not disappointed; my husband was shocked; I couldn't get enough!! You will LOVE IT!!

Guy's Burgers is a must!!

We spent the extra money on the steakhouse but left unhappy. We would have preferred going to the Italian (which everyone raves about) instead.

You should do a Seuss search on Pinterest. There's a bunch of ideas on there that you may be able to adapt to be able to use on the ship.

You can call back (they left me a voicemail and I called the next morning) but from what I gather they are offering the same deal to others in the meantime, so it might not be available if it's something super limited (like owners suites and such).

We're still considered new to the cruising world (we've done AI vacations for 10 yrs). While the answer seems a tiny bit obvious (I think), pardon the question.

For those that have received a call from the "upsell fairy", since it's out of the blue, do you have to decide then and there on the phone or do they give you a "gimme 5 minutes and I'll call you back"??

We were in Grand Cayman on the Breeze this past February and, like you, were on a budget. We waited until we got to the Port when we booked a tour with discountexcursions.com. You can't miss them ... once you get off the ship and enter the shopping area, they are the hut with yellow walls. We paid $20/pp. The driver took us (with a group of about 20 others, including some children and babies) to all the main sights around the island, at which we got off to see. We had the choice to stay at the last stop - the fabulous beach - which we did and get a cab back to the Port for about $10 (total). It was a great way to see the highlights of the island. Have a great time!! We loved Cayman :)

I continue to be amazed at how many intricate details are available for a cruise.

I too am bit amazed.. I don't pick a cruise for details like CD, but ports and ship itself. :confused: With just 2 days at sea, it doesn't faze me who it is.. Sorry...

In the past, we've been told that, due to state regulations, private shuttle companies providing services from airport to port must do/complete the "return trip". Have others experienced this?:confused:

It was on on Monday and Thursday earlier this month.
